Digital pregnancy test today tells me I am pregnant 2-3 weeks (ie 4-5 weeks medical terms).

Pregnancy test taken 10 days ago however gave me a not pregnant result.

First day of last period was 31 may.

Have no idea when may have conceived!!!!

I feel I couldnt be 2-3 weeks pregnant if earlier test said not pregnant.

How long are your cycles normally? If 10 days ago you got a negative test, it could just be that at that point your HCG levels weren't high enough to be detected but they will have risen a lot in 10 days.

My cycles have been regular enough 28 - 30 days which makes me think HCG levels should have been high enough 10 days ago.

Thanks Flashinthepan

What does one do now if don't know conception date? Test again next week to see if it tells me am 3-4 weeks?

Paddypants - those conception indicators are very unreliable. 10 days ago you might have had slightly more dilute urine, or the test might have been slightly less sensitive. It might have only just been under the cut off point of the test. Then the one you have taken today, your urine might have been slightly more concentrated than normal, and or the test slightly more sensitive........ really it does not matter

As for getting the 3+ weeks on it, many women panic when it stays at 2-3 weeks a bit longer than they expect. It is not worth the stress.

Congratulations you are pregnant, the doctors/midwives will look only at the date of the first day of your last menstrual period LMP. They will take this to calculate your due date, and book you for a 12 week scan. At the 12 week scan any difference between the LMP and Scan estimate for the due date of more than 7 days will be the only chance of your due date being moved.

You don't need to know the conception date, as conception can occur any time within 48 hours of ovulation, and only an estimate of this can be made (unless you are having regular ultrasound scans!), and sex to cause the conception could be anything up to 7 days prior to ovulation...... see why they stick with the LMP to calculate dates!!!!

Don't bother testing again, it is just wasting money! Enjoy your pregnancy.

Please don't pee on anymore sticks. You're pregnant. That's all you need to know. Make a midwife appointment and enjoy your pregnancy. Trust me, those sticks are nothing but a worry. They mean nada.

As your last period was almost 2 months ago, you may be offered a scan to confirm dates as there are certain tests etc that are time sensitive, if you want to have them, which you might miss the window for if they don't know when you've conceived.

I agree with mouse that peeing on anything else at this point won't give you any more information!
