Hi all
I'm a first time user of the clear blue digital dual home opk.

I goty first flashing smiley yesterday at cd 13 and another today.

How long is it usually before you get a static?
Do you always get a static?

Keep reading instructions but clueless with opk!

Should I be dtd every time I get a flashy smiley or wait for a static?

Thanks in advance

I used it a few months and never got a flashing smiley face just the annoying your ovulation is peak! I had a week and a half of the normal face.

I ended up just doing the deed when I had discharge and did that for one week. The sticks are good as they show when your LH rises.

When I was using them, I found the ones that have the flashing and static smileys were pretty unreliable for me (I ended up comparing with the basic clearblue one that just has a static smiley and got different results). Not saying that's the same with everyone but I did post about it and some others seemed to have a similar experience.

The basic clearblue ones worked fine for me for some reason and I successfully conceived!

Hi OP

I started using the dual hormone CB tester at the start of this year.

First cycle I think I started too late, used 7 sticks & didn't get a smiley or a static. That was a bit of a waste.

I'd thought that they worked like the cheapie OPKs i.e. you'll get a positive result if you've got LH/surge.

Next month I started on CD8 and had 4 days of negative, then 4 days of high/smiley face then on CD16 I got a static smiley (this was very exciting indeed!)

Following month I used 4 sticks- started on CD12 and got 3 days of negative then a static smiley (peak) on CD15

Sorry posted too soon!

Just to add- my cycles are between 27-31 days.

I finished the 20 sticks in the pack and never bought any more.
It didn't really tell me anything new compared with the cheapie OPKs.

Will say that having smileys is much easier to interpret compared with lines of varying darkness/intensity.

Anyhow, despite lots of DTD when we needed to no BFP as yet.

I threw the stick holder out in the end Blush

It's been a long old journey from a MMC last summer & was at a particular low, frustrated point!

Good luck hope some of this info helps x

thanks all. i tried the cheapy sticks but i could never see a true positive and got a bit down thinking i wasnt ovulating at all. i think i got myself so stressed with it i ended up having a 60 day cycle and just about gave up. This has given me a bit of a boost seeing the flashy! im praying for a static - LH surge.

but seeing the flashy at least i know my hormones are doing something!
