Can polycystic ovaries be hidden by the pill?

Hi,
When I was 17 I had a grape sized cyst and was told my ovaries were polycystic.

I have been having stabbing pains and heavy bleeding/ early bleeding. Anyway had scan no cysts no polycystic ovaries. My question is does the pill hide polycystic ovaries

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18 (textbook symptoms at a time when PCOS was hardly heard ofl) and took the pills for nearly 20 years. When I was scanned after 20 yrars, I was told I had no obvious cysts on my ovaries. I've wondered whether being on the pill had stopped the cysts from developing, leading to artificially masking the physical symptoms.

Did you ever find out

I have pcos and when I was on the pill for many years I never knew until I came off it and all the symptoms hit me at once.

I had (untll a total hysterectomy ) severe endemetreoisis and the only time I was symptom free was when I was on the pill for 5 years.

Ok so that's a yes then. I've asked to come off the pill as I was rushed into a and e yesterday with suspected cyst and there was nothing. When I was scanned ten years ago I had enlarged ovaries and cysts everywhere

This is a very interesting post!! I was on the pill four years. Came off it and ive had three periods in 7 months. Went to the drs for a blood test and they said it could be pco. I was told I have high testosterone 12% should be 4% in people. Waiting for an ultrasound next month to see if I have any cysts on my overies. And another blood test to test lh and fsh when im in day 2-5 of my cycle. Hopefully its nothing and I just have high testosterone.

I will let u know, the pill may have covered my symptoms etc but when I wasnt on it, my periods were on time every month no other pco symptoms.
