Speeding up the process

Hello,

My husband and I have been ttc for over a year now. I am 40 and he is 39. I have very long cycles, which can also be irregular. I have a GP appointment tomorrow, but I was wondering if there was anything quicker I could do to speed things up a bit as I know how slow things can move in the NHS.

Are there any tests I can pay for privately? I am looking into the AMH test, but is there anythinig else I should be looking at or even requesting tomorrow when I have my appointment?

Clomid - how do you go about getting prescribed this?

Thanks ladies - I never realised - naively - until we started ttc how difficult it was to get pregnant!!

Going as a private patient at a clinic will considerably speed up the process. Do either of you have children?

No, neither of us have children.

Have you checked what your ccg sanctions in terms of ivf? Some ccg offer more rounds, some none. The criteria often varies too. I've heard there are often age limits...

All of that, of course, assumes ivf is appropriate for you.

With your age (and the age limits often placed on treatment) I'd highly suggest you start pushing this ASAP. You might find it's faster to go private...
