Since having my ds my cycles are different and I only have 9 days after ovulation before I cramp and spot. I went to the doctor who is going to do some tests 7 days after I next ovulate. She is going to check prolactin levels and thyroid and iron. But from what I've read she should also check my progesterone levels too shouldn't she? She also mentioned Clomid. Has anyone else with a short luteal phase got any advice? I've also heard about using Vitamin B6 and progesterone cream. Please help as I could do with some positive advice.

Lexie - 10 is fine, not too short
Don't know about the heavy bleeds and a possible connection but your LP shouldn't be the thing preventing you from falling pg.

That said, B6 might help extend it a little if that would make you feel better, I think I got an extra 2 days over time which made me feel better about things.

10 days really didn't work for me. but I knew that when I concieved previously my LP was pretty much bang on 14 days each time so I think 10 - 11 days was too short for me.

Hi Lexie - sorry to hear that af arrived. I've started on B6 today - I don't think I've anything to lose.
Good luck to everyone ttc

Thanks girls. I will stop taking mt Vit B6 and EPO today then as ovulated at the weekend and don't want to damage any foetus that might be groing inside me. Fingers crossed there is a foetus but don't feel any different really apart from been having cramps the last couple of days which I don't normally have

Oh my goodness. I think I've only just discovered what my problems is and it must be that I have a short luteal phase. I haven't quite worked out when I'm ovulating but I had thought it was strange that I get the signs only about 3-6 days before my period. My Doctor recently diagnosed me with very minor underactive thyroid but said it was so minor that it was unrelated to the fact that I haven't been able to get pregnant. I have only been off the pill since January though. Does anyone know anything about the two things being related or if the short luteal phase ever gets longer by itself?

Hi all,

Would love to jump in on this thread and hear about any success stories/tips on lengthening your luteal phase and raising your progesterone levels.

My husband and I have only been properly trying for three months but my luteal phase average is 9 days and it's really starting to get my down and worry me :(

This month, it was 8 days. Last month, 7 days and in February 11 days.

Thanks in advance for any tips!
