Period or early miscarriage.

Firstly, I'm sorry if this post upsets anyone or is TMI. I just wondered if anyone had had a very early miscarriage that they had initially mistaken to be their period?

My period turned up 2 days early, which is very unusual. I had 2 days of intermittent brown discharge before the bleeding started properly. Again, very unlike my normal period. I now have heavy bleeding with lots of clots. It just feels very odd and I am now starting to wonder if this could be a very early miscarriage. Perhaps I am just reading too much in to it but how do you know? Perhaps I never will now...

Have you tried taking a test anyway?
I have pcos and went 4-6 months with no proper period then had one that was her black (sorry for tmi) then later that week found out I was pregnant. No reason was found for the bleeding (kept experiencing a little) now 15 weeks.
Hopefully you get the answer your looking for

That sounds like a normal period. You would normally miss a period or it come late plus a positive pregnancy test to be classed as a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy. Medically, chemicals are not considered miscarriages as they never really develop and are classed as unsuccessful cycles, however they are just as upsetting and emotionally effecting as early miscarriages. Since your AF was early, I don't think this is the case with either outcome.

I think you possibly had a thick wall lining which is why you are losing clots, and maybe even a little cyst where the egg was released. All very very normal. If you are having lots of TTC sex also, the discharge can be a number of things. You can irritate yourself which can cause clots too.

Try not to worry. X

Thank you both. I'm sure you're right MouseLove and it is just a regular period. It just feels very different to normal but perhaps this TTC business is just making me overthink things.
