TTC after MC - Feels like its NEVER going to happen! :(

Hello,

I really need some advice...

I had a missed mc back in May 2016... period returned back to normal (always been 28 days as long as I've had my period!) anyway decided I needed to give myself a break from the torture of trying to conceive so went on the mini-pill in September 2016. After a few weeks of bleeding/hormones etc being all over the place I stopped the pill as it was messing me up mentally, emotionally, physically.. didn't then have a breakthrough period until the November and then back to normal for me from the December.

From January 2017 I decided to start tracking my period to try and gauge roughly when I would be most fertile etc.. however, since I have been tracking my period each cycle can be anything from 28-32 days...

Now, whilst yes I am definitely hoping to fall pregnant, we aren't being super strict with checking ovulation etc, just trying to relax and if it happens it happens...

But I am going crazy now.... it's been over a year since my MC and I can't understand why I've not fallen pregnant yet.

When we fell pregnant last time (Feb 2016) I had been off the pill for 3 months, cycle went back to normal super quick and viola we were pregnant!

EVERY month without fail I am questioning could I be, over-analysing every single symptom etc then AF arrives and I'm left wondering WTF is going on with my body!

My AF is now due today (according to my app) but I took a test yest evening and it was BFN. My symptoms right now are tingly boobs, slight cramp but I usually experience this with PMS so I am 99.9% certain AF is on it's way :(

I already have a beautiful boy and am so wanting to add to my family, I've gotten pregnant 3 times now (2 previous MC, 1 successful pregnancy) so what am I doing wrong... do I go to the Dr about it?

Please any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you xxx

Hi Zoe,

Sorry for your losses. MCs are horrific. I had two in two consecutive cycles in recent months and now TTC is a nightmare because I convince myself I'm pregnant every cycle, get all the symptoms under the sun and then when I start bleeding or get a BFN I'm distraught. There are a few of us on Mumsnet confused because we are used to getting pregnant easily and now we are not!

I would really recommend Clearblue advanced ovulation kits that tell you when you are gearing up to ovulate (oestrogen surge) and also when you get your LH surge, meaning ovulation is imminent. Timing is so important, with both my pregnancies we TTC the day before ovulation. In recent cycles I don't think we have managed to get as close to it.

But it can't hurt to discuss this with your doc too; I've just told mine about it after three cycles of BFNs.

Good luck; it's bound to happen again!

Hello PoppyJ1, thank you for your reply!

You're right, when you have experienced something happening so easily and naturally before it certainly throws you when things don't just happen right away!

So after me testing first thing Monday am (BFN) later that afternoon I was convinced my period was going to start. Went to the bathroom and had a tiny bit of brown blood when I wiped (apologies TMI) and thought this is it 😒 but there's been NOTHING since... so of course, I looked it up (because again we love to drive ourselves mad over getting pregnant!) and it mentioned implantation bleed.. I've never experienced this myself before so have no idea if it was or not but here I am three days later and still NO period... I've not taken any more tests. I'm at the point now where I feel as though if I go and buy another test then period is going to show anyway so may as well wait it out. Symptom wise, the sore boobs aren't so much sore as they are heavy feeling. Cramping pretty much comes and goes but not as intense as PMS... I'm actually so over this all now. I hate not feeling in control of my body... my plan is to wait it out until Sunday at the earliest and if nothing by then do another test.. I'm due to have my smear test next Weds (yay! 😂) so either way if something could happen before then that would be good!

Hoping you get your positive soon and thanks again for the reply xxx
