Hi there, me and my partner have decided to try for our first baby(we are both 30), I came off the pill in mid may and I had a week long bleed on the 26th since then I have had nothing for 46 days, I have done a few pregnancy tests and they have come up negative I have very painful breasts and my lower tummy is much harder than usual, I know I am probably not pregant because of the negative tests, by where is my period?? Help lol I don't want to go to the doctor yet as I don't think they will take it seriously, what would everyone do in my situation?
Thanks so much

Good old contraceptive pill. Honestly it's an absolute monster!! My first cycle was 50 days and I think I was lucky. Some ladies went much higher than me. My next cycle was 23 days. Don't worry. Relax and settle into not taking the horrible little thing. It can take up to a year for your cycles to settle down but to be honest you might fall pregnant quickly if you have one mammoth cycle now and let your body settle. Good luck. Try not to worry!!

Don't panic my first cycle after the pill was 45 days then 85 days it's only setting down now after 6 months! Try not to panic and worry as that can play havoc with your cycles.

Thank you guys the only reason I'm so confused as whenever in the past I have forgotten my pill for a day (I was on the mini pill where you don't have a 7 day break) then I would bleed, I also have come off it in the past when I broke up with my ex and my periods came back straight away, but I guess every time is different and I'm a few years older now. Thanks for the advice I'm glad I've found this site Smile

Keep an eye on things! This happened to me, month 7 of no pill. Had two periods in 7 months, currently on day 7 and its super heavy.

I went to the drs last week about it. Had a blood test and found my testosterone levels are high and its suspected PCO. Been booked in for an ultrasound to double check things, have to wait four weels for it. Im hoping its all clear and my body is adjusting to being off the pill.

The dr said it can take up to 18 months for periods to be normal again off the pill. This sounds super high to me but shes the dr. Dont panic as I did every month it was late spent ages googling stuff. See how it goes and in 6 months off the pill get a blood test done just to put yr mind a rest.

Just thought I'd let anyone who is interested know that my period finally started yesterday on day 50 I was so happy as I was beginning to worry I'd buggered up my body from taking the pill for so long!

Loosemoose28 · 15/07/2017 09:11

Mine finally came on 13th
