Hey everyone so I posted last night to show you all a very faint cross on a pregnancy test everyone confirmed as positive and then this morning I decided to do a digital one to confirm and to my surprise it came up not pregnant

I did the wrong thing, and opened up the test and inside there was two lines on one strip and one on the other strip I've attached pics of last nights test and this mornings I am currently 7 days late so a 38 day cycle so far!! I am usually on either 30 or 31 days! So not sure what's going on!! Conception was just under two weeks ago so surely it should be showing up by now or am I too early??

When will I get a true positive 😞

What do you mean conception was under 2 weeks ago and you're 8 days late?

If you have a 30 day cycle, you'd normally ovulate on day 16, or about 3 weeks ago. Which would mean you wouldn't be able to get pregnant from day 19, and any sex less than 2 weeks ago wouldn't lead to conception.

Are you checking when you ovulate?

Lalalax3 · 10/07/2017 08:38

Those look positive to me

user1479837956 · 10/07/2017 08:40

Sorry potential conception in terms of me and OH had sex unprotected just under two weeks ago. And now I'm 8 days late, I ovulated the week before that so was expecting to start period on the 3rd July but nothing and still nothing sorry post wasn't very clear!!

Your dates are confusing, sorry.

You should expect your period 14 days after ovulation.
If you ovulated one week before sex, there's virtually no chance that you got pregnant from that event. (Unless you had sex at other times closer to ovulation)

How are you checking ovulation?

NotTheDuchessOfCambridge · 10/07/2017 08:48

It's extremely extremely rare to get a positive result if you're not pregnant. It is very early to be doing the test as the HGC hormones need to increase.

OP, was that line within the specified time?

Whatever it's on the lines after that time doesn't matter.

Take it easy and wait.

Hi
First day of Last period was on the 3rd June
ovulation occurred on the 21st June (I know this because I get terrible pains when I ovulate)
Unprotected sex occurred on 28th June
Period was meant to start on the 3rd/4th July so in total I am around 7 days late

I tested yesterday evening and got the first pic non digital test

Took another test this morning which was digital it came up as not pregnant but inside there were two lines.

I use a period calendar and have done since coming off the pill in December and it has always been spot on and I have always come on either the 30th day or 31st

Hi lweji the first test came up within the two minutes
On the digital I waited till the test came up with a result and then opened it and saw the two lines so that was within 5 mins

Digital tests always have 2 lines inside whether negative or positive, they don't mean anything. If you're 7 days late you would normally have a dark line. Ive done blue line tests that have turned out to be negative if the line is that faint. Try a pink dye x

Waitingonasmile · 10/07/2017 09:03

If you ovulated on 21st the egg only lasts 12-24 hours, so unprotected sex on 28th would definitely not result in pregnancy.

Lweji · 10/07/2017 09:06

Did you have sex at any other time?

user1479837956 · 10/07/2017 09:09

We had sex the day after ovulation but it was protected but never say never I guess! Lol!

OP posts:
Waitingonasmile · 10/07/2017 09:12

It's very very unlikely you are pregnant then. Clearblue are terrible for giving fault evaps and if left long enough will get lines even if negative. If you are ttc you really need to be having unprotected sex the 5 days before ovulation and then day of and day after to be sure.

Lweji · 10/07/2017 09:15

In the kindest possible way, why are you having protected sex around the time of ovulation if you want a baby?

user1479837956 · 10/07/2017 09:48

In the greatest respect, I didn't say I was trying...
we weren't going to try until the end of the year as we're both early 20's and only moved in together 8 months ago... I tracked my periods since coming off the pill as contraception doesn't agree with my body. So I tracked my periods for situations like this... where I am very late and was wondering as to why. I was asking for advice, not a lecture and was asking if anyone could see a positive on both the tests as like I have said many times the positive lines came up within 5 minutes.
Of course it goes without saying that if I was we would welcome him or her into the world with open arms.

And like I said in my first post I have never been late before my periods have always come either on the 30th or 31st day I was looking to see if anyone has had anything like this before.

When will I get a true positive 😞

My mistake, then. :)

user1479837956 · 10/07/2017 09:58

Really? Look if you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all 😂😂

Of course with being late I would love to be pregnant so seriously get off this feed 😂

Well people were simply trying to help. The digital, as someone mentioned, will always show two lines if taken apart so is not a sign of a positive. The Clearblue is an odd colour, did you use the flash or do anything to the picture? Those tests do show a line after a while so can't really be trusted. I'm sorry you are not pregnant If that's what you wanted.

PrimeraVez · 10/07/2017 09:59

I don't want to disappoint you if you are hoping for a BFP, but I've had lines on a Clear Blue like that before, and they turned out to be evaps. And as a previous poster said, Clear Blue digis will always have two lines when opened up (I've seen 2 lines before when I know I wasn't pregnant)

I would use a pink dye test, preferably a First Response Early Result (FRER) if possible. I hope you get the result you want.

Lweji · 10/07/2017 10:08

That's me told, OP, thank you.
