I came off the pill in the end of February and have been using an app on my iphone called ‘Flo’ since then to track my periods and fertility.
My last period was only for 4 days from Thursday 8th June to Sunday 11th June. I added this into Flo and added my menstruation flow as heavy for 1st day and 2nd day, medium for 3rd day and light for the final day. This calculated my predicted day of Ovulation as Wednesday 21st June and the first day of my next period to be Thursday 7th July (yesterday). The app has been pretty spot on for my period dates, I have either had my period the day it predicts or 1 day before it predicts.
I was messing around with the app yesterday and accidentally deleted the period dates from June, and added them straight back in (without menstruation flow for each day) and bizarrely my predicted ovulation date changed along with my predicted period date which changed to tomorrow. I was wracking my brains out and couldn’t understand it. Eventually I realised, and added the menstruation flow back in and the predicted ovulation date and predicted period start date went back to 21st June and 7th July.
So, I was just wondering if menstruation flow affects the day your ovulation falls/when your next period is due?
