Anyone else starting Clomid?

Hi all,

I'm starting my first pill on Clomid today and I just wondered if anyone out there was in the same boat. I'm not quite sure what to expect but it would be nice knowing I'm not alone :)

Hi PGTips you're never alone Grin I'm not on clomid but my cousin was and she's now pregnant with twins! So good luck Wink I was interested to know how long you were ttc before moving to clomid?

Thank you Shanners! :) Do you know how low your cousin was in it before her BFP?

Not long at all in TTC, honestly! Less than six months. But I had a private pre- conception check up, where they found out my ovulation is poor quality, so they popped me on it straight away. I'm really glad I had the check up to save me time!

I've just finished 2nd cycle of Clomid and now in fertile window.
I found taking it just after evening meal worked fine for me, I took it days 2-6 but some clinics vary the timing.
Anyway it hasn't worked yet but side effects not too bad, did have a bit of tummy trouble but nothing major.

I took 50mg day 2-6 and got pregnant first month. I'm now 32+3! I didn't really have any side effects, other than the odd mild hot flush. Good luck Smile

I'm in TWW from 1st round Clomid 50mg. Don't think it worked this time as my day 21 progesterone was 4 Confused

Soon starting 3rd cycle of Clomid, had 50mg the last 2 cycles and next 2 100mg. Fingers crossed the increase will do the trick.

Hey, how did you get on? how were the side effects?

I'm currently on my second month of Clomid. Honestly had no side effects at all and they said I responded amazing for my first round. (50mg).

They monitored me for my first go. Which is good because I didn't think it had worked due to lack of side effects and nothing to tell me I was ovulating.

Because I responded so well they decided not to monitor me this round... but I don't think I have ovulated :( No positive OPK! I did get an almost positive but It wasn't quite dark enough to class.

Have they been monitoring you?

Hi Tweety, I haven't had any monitoring but will have day 21 blood test next cycle after taking the higher dosage.
How was your response measured? Ie scans or blood tests?

Hi JeNe, Well I had a Scan before I started. One on CD10 to measure my follicle's and then another one on CD18 to see if the follicle had ruptured – On the same day I had bloods taken to measure the progesterone... although she said they would only ring if there was a problem. So I am assuming everything was ok.

Really didn't want to be monitored round 2 as I was running out of reasons as to why I need a certain day off last minute. But now I wish I had been.

How was your first AF after your first round? I found mine rather odd. Are you also on 50mg?

I'm waiting for AF after first round. How was it odd tweetypie ? I've done a test and neg yesterday - on day 29 today (normal cycle average 26 days) and still no sign of AF but have had cramps and keep thinking I'm coming on.... for past week really. I def ovulated as progesterone was in the 70s and I had scans. Did it make anyone's cycles longer?

Well it although I have nothing to compare it to ... It came earlier than expected ... on CD25.

No spotting or anything, it was just there. I got to about 11am and had the most excruciating pain. I kept telling myself to stop being daft as it's just period pain... woman deal with this all the time.

My boss ended up sending me home as I sat squirming in my chair about to burst into tears. I was haveing hot flashes, dizziness and not long after I got home I was sick. I managed to work through it and it eased with some help. I expected with that much pain to be heavy but it wasn't really. Just medium and kinda for the next few days would stop and start. Maybe it's just because it was the first proper period if had in years.

I do worry for my next one... if I end up getting one.

I have read a fair bit about it making cycles longer though Blondie, when is it you ovulated, do you know?
