Newbie MNer here.... Just looking for ladies who might b in the same boat.

Stats
Age 27
Ttc #1
Cycle #3
CD54

I have extreme long and irregular cycles, always have, but they had been masked by BCP which I came off in Jan 2016. Have been to GP but she said many women have worse cycles and it's not worth worrying about until ttc for at least a year.

So I was hoping there are others out there with irregular/long cycles to keep me company.... Its a long old month when you're waiting! 😂 my AF is due any day now so fingers x!

Hello! I thought I'd reply as I'm also 27, first time ttc and have long cycles (mine due to pcos). Last cycle was my first and I had a very early miscarriage, I found out I was pregnant the same day I started to bleed. That time I actually had been using protection until about day 45 but obviously did go on to ovulate which I didn't think would happen.
This cycle I have been using OPKs even though I have heard not to with pcos (I figure mine might be mild enough that they work) had a positive on Saturday so unless I fall pregnant I will pleased if I get a period in 2 weeks as that would mean the test works.
Good luck with everything! My GP said to come back in 6 months if nothing happens but that will be as I have a known issue.

Hey sThinking. Really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Flowers I have no PCOS symptoms, GP seems to think my long cycles are just my "normal". I have never used OPKs mainly cuz I wouldn't know when to start with them. Which ones do you use? Best of luck, sounds good so far :)

Thank you, we're trying to take it as a good sign but it was rubbish at the time.

I used the clear blue advanced digital ones with the smiley faces. If I think they worked for me this time I will probably use the cheaper ones going forward.

My doctor also doesn't think long cycles are that big of a deal. I had two blood tests which were 'normal'.

I think if AF arrives I'll try the OPK's next cycle, the clear blue ones would cost me a fortune though to test every day. I'd like to assume i just ovulate late but with irregular dates its kinda impossible to know when to start. Thanks for the replies, nice to know i'm not alone!
