Am I pregnant!? Feint positive test

Hi ladies, I have just taken my first ever pregnancy test and has attached the pic - is this a definite positive result!? I am so shocked. The largely missed my fertile period this month so I thought the chances of me being pregnant are very slim which is why I'm so surprised. Can you get a feint positive which then turns to a negative!? I think I am 10/11 days DPO.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks x

It really looks like it but is it a Superdrug test?

peonies88 · 30/06/2017 07:14

Thanks for your replies ladies.

I am in shock! It's a first response early response. Can they ever be wrong and then turn negative?! I can't believe it! How accurate are they?! X

Yup! That was what my test looked like too.... he's 4 months old now! Congrats!

Ginger782 · 30/06/2017 07:17

False negatives are possible, false positives are not (they are...but they're extremely rare if you have taken the test properly). Congrats! Flowers

Thanks so much for your replies, I'll do some more tests over the weekend. Do I need to wait until the day my period is due before I go to the docs for confirmation? Thank you

Congratulations! It might be different where you are, but where I am the GP doesn't even test again, they just go on your home test results!! They check your urine, blood pressure etc and make sure you're taking folic acid and make a referral to the hospital for your booking appointment. If you have a couple of hospitals close by with maternity units that you could go to, then do some research before you go to your GP so you know which one you want them to refer you to.

Phaslosttheplot · 30/06/2017 08:09

Would wait till you are six weeks from first day of last period before seeing GP to give the pregnancy a chance to get going. Although I don't think they confirm, but just take your word for it and refer you to where you want to have your baby. You could in the meantime look into where you want to have your baby. The first of many decisions! Congrats!

Oysterbabe · 30/06/2017 08:19

You don't need to see the GP in my area. I'd call your surgery and ask if you need to or of you are referred straight to the midwife.

cherrylove · 30/06/2017 08:22

Yes I can see a line. Good luck. Smile

peonies88 · 30/06/2017 08:25

Ok that's strange then that they can't confirm any more than a home pregnancy test! I think I'm just struggling to believe it so I want someone to tell me beyond any doubt that I am definitely pregnant. But maybe I'll just do some more tests over the weekend and take them to the docs on Monday. It's been about 8 weeks since my last period as I have long and irregular cycles (another reason I'm so shocked and this is our first month of trying- think I only bd 3-4 days before I ovulated!? Seems too good to be true to me!

Thanks so much for your help ladies! X

I found that a digital test was more reassuring, seeing the word pregnant rather than lines made it more real! It's uncommon to need to see a doctor, most places you just book a midwife appointment at about 8 weeks. The NHS website has a good list of foods to be careful about in pregnancy and obviously make sure you're taking folic acid. There's not really anything else a doctor would tell you, unless you have health conditions that could complicate a pregnancy.

peonies88 · 30/06/2017 08:49

Thanks @welshweasel i may do that- AF isn't due until Monday so I might wait until then?! I'm so scared now it's going to show up negative!

weetabixmom · 01/07/2017 06:52

Good luck! I had a chemical recently. It showed a faint line on early response but I couldn't get a result on clear blue digital. I hope that because you have it sets you in good stead - the hcg hormone must be strong in you. Congratulations!
