TTC after having depo injection for 6 years

I had the contraceptive injection (depo provera) for 6 years, had my last injection December 2015. I didn't have a period the whole time I was on the injection but it came back straight away once I'd stopped contraception. From then on I've suffered with being on for 2-3 months at a time, however I've had relatively normal cycles for the past 4 months. My partner and I have been TTC since I came off contraception but haven't been successful. I'm currently seeing a gynaecologist who is investigating my fertility. I'm getting myself so worked up every month when it comes to waiting for my period to come and I feel so down. A number of friends/family are pregnant and I feel so awful, all I can think is why them and not me?

Any advice? X

Hey, I was also on depo provera for 6 years. Last injection Aug 16. It really messes with you doesn't it?
I also had no periods whilst on it, and nothing changed until Feb this year when I just didn't stop bleeding for around 3 months. I started getting faint and went to the drs. I was given meds to stop the bleeding for a week and run through the mill with tests. Nothing obvious wrong but once I stopped taking what they'd given me I went into normal cycles then.
I've had such terrible symptoms, sickness, sore swollen boobs, cramps, dizziness, exhaustion. You name it, I've had it for the majority of my cycle!
I don't have much to suggest, but you are not alone xxx

It's horrible! My cycles seem to be normal now (touch wood)! I had swabs taken and a pelvic ultrasound and my partner has done a sperm sample - we get the results on Thursday so fingers crossed everything is fine. I'm like you, get all the symptoms and convince myself I'm pregnant to be shot down with a negative test each month. It's really getting to me now! X

Snap! I feel like I'm half the person I was because it's constantly weighing over me. Will do, thank you! I'm so nervous but hopefully will have some good news. We'll soon see! X

Turns out I have low progesterone and ovulate irregularly. Ultrasound was fine. Done more swabs now got to have more bloods and an x-ray on my fallopian tubes! X
