How many times to do OPK?

How many times do you do an OPK in a day? Normally I do one a day but could I miss the 'surge'? Should I do more than one a day when I think I'm near ovulating??

I did 2 a day coming up to ovulation this month, about 2pm and 7pm. Got a positive at about cd12.
