PCOS after pregnancy?

Hi

I heard a runour that PCOS dsappears (or can disappear) after pregnancy - does anyone know if this is true?

I've just (8 weeks ago) had my first baby conceived on clomid as I have PCOS. I aven't had AF yet which is not surprising in itself as I am partially breastfeeding but in any case had huge gaps in between AF before (about a year between AF).

I just wondered if anyone has been through this and/or has any info?

Thanks!

I've heard from my endocrinologist that sometimes the symptoms go away for up to 6 months. The hordes of female hormones present during and after pregnancy are the reason, it seems.

I haven't had a period yet and my son is 5 months but I am breastfeeding. I think I've ovulated though, but my chin is as hairy as ever!

I have a few friends who also have PCOS and needed fertility treatment first time round but had no problems conceiving second time around.
