*warning graphic pic* bleeding before my period?

Has anyone bled before a period? I haven't experienced this before and I've had this same coloured deep dark brown bleeding for about 5 days now. The colour has remained the same and the amount has varied from day to day. It seems more visible when I bear down on the toilet.
I'm in no pain whatsoever apart from tender breasts, which seem more painful at nights/first thing waking.
I'm around 11-12dpo.
So sorry for the graphic photo but wondered if anyone else had the same thing happen to them?
So scared something's wrong with me, I've tried to get a GP appointment but they are choc a block :(

Well it's not fresh bleeding as it would be bright red.
It looks more like blood from the end of a period where it tails off and becomes quite brownish.
I would defiantly get it checked out.
When did you last have a smear test?
You don't say how old you are, is it possible you are on the change?

*sorry forgot to say, I'm 30. Had a smear last year too.

I had this once when I was in my very early 20s, a smear test came back fine, std test, ultrasound scan too.
It was really dark brown/almost black bleeding for about 3 weeks. In the end it stopped and they put it down to probably being a polyp that bled and then dropped off?

I usually have that around ovulation time. Gaene said it confirms ovulation.

Any chance you could be pregnant? I had this and am now 11 weeks!
As pp has said could of been tail end of the last period.
If it carries on I'd check in with gp

We are currently ttc, however no luck so far. The first day this started it was barely there, the smallest little stain when wiping, and it's not been "heavy" each day just enough to know it's there when you bear down on the loo.
At first I thought it was my period starting over a week early but I've never had that happen to me ever.
I secondly hoped it was implantation but I just feel like it's too much blood to be classed as that? Isn't implantation a tiny smear for no more than a few days?
I feel absolutely fine in myself, my ov guestimate day for this month was cd12/13. I had a lot of gas the few days after this and some back pain but it died down. Then came the blood part, and I've had sore boobs but I get that every cycle tbh.
I had a read of some of the guesses to what it could be;
I can deffo rule out std lol. I did have a scan around 4 years ago for cysts which came back clear, and I also had a lap dye test around the same time too which was also fine. Bar for that I'm stumped.
Just hope it isn't anything serious

I don't know if this has any relevance to it but I feel really constipated today, hence the show of blood when wiping.
I'll have to wait until Monday to get an appointment, the waiting and wondering sucks :(

Bella I started getting this kind of spotting before AF since my ectopic, which was more than a year ago. I get it sometimes 10 days before AF starts in varying quantities. I have had smears, scans, STD tests etc and there seems to be nothing wrong with me. I suspect some kind of hormone issue but there is nothing wrong with me that is life threatening so please try not to worry.

Having said that, if you do discover that you are pregnant this cycle, and continue to have more spotting/bleeding, please make sure to see a doctor/have an early scan. Spotting/bleeding in early pregnancy is common and is often completely harmless, but it can also be a symptom of something more serious so best to get it checked.

The only reason I felt worry was because I'd never had this happen to me before, my periods are ALWAYS clockwork, I always get the same backache on day of af then a red flow so when I saw this dark blood I panicked.
I think the cervical cancer symptom list came up and made me crap myself when I googled my issue :/

Please don't panic. There are all sorts of reasons to have a strange cycle, most of which are nothing at all, some of which are sign of a problem but nothing serious and a tiny amount that are a sign of something more serious.

If you're not experiencing pain, that is a good sign.

I had the exact same thing, it was light for a few days - earlier than I expected my period to arrive, then heavy for about a day then back to light again - I bled for about 12 days in total - all brown blood. Took a test just to make sure and wasn't pregnant so in the end after googling loads I put it down to a chemical pregnancy or very early miscarriage.

I read about chemical pregnancy too, to be honest there are so many possibilities of why it happens. I think I've drove myself Google crazy!!

I had this brown blood for a week before my actual (red blood) period came. Ended up bleeding for two weeks if I counted both the town and red bless! It was my first period after the breakthrough bleed after a failed ivf cycle so I put it down to weird hormonal effects of that. My clinic weren't worried about it.

I've not had anymore bleeding today, it always seems to come in one go and a reasonable amount comes out then nothing for the rest of the day - even after I finally managed to poop sorry tmi I know lol

I get this in the lead up to AF. Starts about 3-4 days before. No idea why. Suspect my problem is hormonal as been ttc for almost 2 years and docs don't think I ovulate regularly. No one seems particularly concerned about it, but if you are worried, see your gp.

I did get a callback from my gp and she asked the relevant questions but said it was too difficult to diagnose over the phone etc but will need looking into if I've never had it happen before.
I just thought it odd that it started 8 days before af.
I've had bloodwork done myself to check my hormone levels in the past which has turned out fine but I'd deffo like that checking over again as I do suffer quite a lot with pms most months and have been struggling to conceive no2 even though docs have said I'm fine

I have it quite often but not every period. For me I think it may be due to polycystic ovaries.
I have always had it though (except when I was on the contraceptive pill)

*just a little update, the brown spotting has died down a little, not as much seems to be coming out anymore and no sign of af yet. The waiting is just horrible, this feels like my longest 2ww EVER

Hi I know this isn’t the right place to post this but seeing as all of you on here are either trying to conceive, are pregnant or have previously been pregnant, I think you may be able to help me!!
I’m 17 years old currently on the pill and am in a sexual relationship. For the past few months my periods have been very irregular, some of which I’ve even missed or have been extremely late which I’m currently seeing the doctor for.
I had sex about a week ago as my boyfriend is now away with family, due to come on my period but I’m experiencing quite watery clear discharge with a pink sort of colour to it which I haven’t had before. I understand the pill isnt always effective but there’s never been an issue with it before and I always take it regularly so I’m certain I’m not pregnant, however whatever I search on the Internet says I am and it’s concerning me. Is there anything else this could potentially be? Could it be a sign of my period coming perhaps?

I've been going through the same exact thing, I took 2 pregnancy test and they both came back negative but I'm freaking out because I've never experienced this before. My last period started April 8 of this year, on the 11 it stop for almost the entire day n started back around 12am on the 12 and stop on either the 13 or 14 (my period normally last for 5-6days) couple days after I started seeing dark brown blood until the color looks exactly like the picture you've posted... it's almost 2 weeks since I'm going through this and I'm not able to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I already have a hospital bill for 14000... if someone could help me it will be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I recently quit taking the depo shot and I am now experiencing this type of brown clot like shedding of blood with minor cramps.
