Where is AF?!

Never before have I wanted af to arrive! 6 months of no af, not even a hint. Been to see GP twice who said because of the depo it can take a year for af to even arrive let alone begin to get back to normal cycle. I feel like it's not worth even TTC until she's here & regular but on the other hand, I don't want to give up like that. Confused Quite literally driving myself nutty.

I was on depo years ago and I was one day late for infection they refused to do it until my period came. 5 months later I asked for the pill instead and it finally kick started my periods. They should really tell people how long it can take to come out of system before ppl choose to use that method.

Good luck I hope your cycles return soon! X x

Hey. Not to scare you but it took 3 years for me to get a proper cycle after my first and only depo shot (had it 13 years ago) I was first told it lasts 3 months, then 6, then tired of spotting every day i asked when id get my proper cycle back to normal and they said 'could be a year to 2 years Angry had i known there would be a small chance of it taking that long for me to return to normal, i would never have had it done and just relied on good old fashioned condoms (theyve worked for 10 years 😀)

But everyone reacts differently. Mine went from spotting every day for 2 years then a year of period every 10-14 days and finally 3 years and a month later....back to normal

During this time I was recommended to take the pill but I refused, i was told that it may have helped to regulate my cycle again.

I was one of very small percentage that this happens to, but I've had a friend who's had no problem and fallen pregnant within months of coming off it.

I'm not sure with the science behind ttc if you haven't had periods since coming off it but there may still be a chance? Would it be worth trying ovulation strips? Scientifically I wouldn't say it's possible because there's no released egg being ejected out by our Lady AF.

BUT.....there's sooooooooo many stories of women getting pregnant after depo before even getting a period,..so I say....(after such a long essay)...DTD AND GET BABY MAKING!

Thank you for your replies. In all honesty depo was the worst decision I've ever made. The last shot I had in August last year made me bleed for 3 months! It was a nightmare!

It's comforting knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel but I think depo should be offered as a last resort. I've seen so many stories of women just not getting on well with it & the warning of osteoporosis is worrying too.
