So we have been ttc for 3 years. Had ivf x 2 and one mc. Yesterday and this am I've had positive tests with good lines. Period probably a day late. Just been to the loo and there was some brown when I wiped. This is over isn't it? Can't believe I was stupid enough to get my hopes up.

It's not over yet at all. It could easily be spotting as it's around period time.

I had spotting exactly when my period was due with my dc and then it stopped again and I never realised I was pregnant for another week after that.

Don't lose hope, i know it's difficult, sorry I don't have any other advice

beanhunter · 13/06/2017 07:04

Thanks. Seems to have stopped and frer v positive this morning so fingers crossed.

I had brown spotting when I was 9 weeks pregnant, now 18 weeks, brown blood is old blood xx

RedastheRose · 13/06/2017 10:25

Not necessarily, I had spotting at 4 weeks and 8 weeks with my first at the time my period would have been due. Baby was fine. Fingers crossed for you.

I am thinking of you and wishing you well. Such a nerve wracking time.

ferriswheel · 13/06/2017 22:00

How are you getting on?

beanhunter · 14/06/2017 07:01

I'm ok thanks. Still intermittent spotting but tests still positive and getting darker so praying this one will stick.

I had spotting when my period was due, that's actually what prompted me to take a test. I spotted for 3 days then it stopped. I'm 16 weeks now and have had scans, all going fine.

BeanSprout79 · 14/06/2017 07:16

Brown blood is old blood, so it could be implantation, it's pink/red blood that is the worry.

MotherofBoy · 14/06/2017 07:22

Fingers crossed for you op, I wouldn't be worried just yet as like pp said brown spotting quite common. In fact spotting of any type is common in early pregnancy (something you never get told!) I had red spotting at 13 weeks and was petrified but all was well turned out I just had a sensitive cervix

eurochick · 14/06/2017 07:24

Not at all. Bleeding and spotting in early pregnancy is surprisingly common.

mummabubs · 14/06/2017 07:28

I had pink and then red bleeding at seven weeks- I'm now 23.5 weeks. As others have said, brown blood = old blood. I'd try and stop doing tests as these are probably just going to keep you feeling anxious and continue on the assumption that everything is fine unless a medical professional tells you otherwise! (That was my tactic!) Fingers crossed for you OP xx

beanhunter · 14/06/2017 07:38

Thanks. Am stopping testing now. Just needed to see lines progressing despite spotting given my previous history. Feel sick this morning so can use that as a guide now!

You can get early scans cheap enough I used a company called baby bond look into it for reassurance

Ilovebees · 23/01/2024 19:25

@beanhunter how did it end up for you lovely ? Xx

beanhunter · 23/01/2024 19:30

Initially it stuck but I lost at 14 weeks.
