TTC - strange bleeding and nothing makes sense

Right- I come cap-in-hand to you all as I've exhausted all other avenues to try to work out what the heck is going on in my body!

We have been ttc for over six months. We conceived in January, but in March discovered we'd lost the baby and I had a D&C in the first week of April.

Bleeding was strange after D&C- lasted quite a while with continued spotting for nearly almost 3 weeks. I hoped I had ovulated sometime in early May, but admittedly wasn't testing. I then started bleeding again around 11 May so figured that was at least a new cycle so was glad to be able to just draw a line in the sand and go from there...so that should have seen me ovulate some time towards the end of May...but I tested every day for two weeks from 20 May and got nothing. So was disappointed. Then started spotting on 1 June (strange). Then that turned into full on bleeding by 3 June...and I'm still bleeding today...over a week later! My pre-miscarriage periods were NEVER more than four days TOTAL.

But assuming that it's just a strange period, that seems to be going on forever, I just figured I'd wait and it would stop eventually and then we could start ttc again...only today for some strange reason I decided to do an ovulation test...and it's positive!!

WTF?! ANY ideas out there? Anyone experienced anything similar? I can't seem to find any examples of women saying implantation or ovulation bleeding could last THIS long...but equally I can't work out why I'd be ovulating and still menstruating...

I'm flummoxed. And getting desperately frustrated with my malfunctioning body! ☹️

Grateful for any assistance.

x

Bleeding is heavier again today. ☹️

Now I've been reading about ovarian cysts and I'm fretting more...but I haven't had any pain so not sure if it could be that. Feeling horribly depressed and deflated by the whole thing.

Guess that means no one has experienced anything similar ☹️.

Thanks anyway!

Hey, I haven't got any experience of this exactly but just wanted to say sorry for your loss. My first cycle post-miscarriage hasn't been "normal" and the not knowing is horrible. Come over to the TTC after miscarriage thread, there are a load of lovely ladies who may have been through similar

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear this. My first cycle after mc was a bit different, but this sounds strange to bleed and then get positive ov test. I think you should go to your GP to get your hormone levels tested, it might help clear up where you are in your cycle Flowers

Thank you, ladies. I thought I'd update you (not that there's much update)...decided it was high time I sought medical advice. Phoned 111, they sent me to my local urgent care unit last night on account of the duration of bleeding; waited 2.5 hours; saw a nurse who said 'well I can't do anything'; recommended seeing my GP; called this morning and got a ring-back service; GP rang me and said I definitely need a scan so sent me to an urgent face to face gp appt; took a half day off work this afternoon to go to the gp appt: 45 mins wait and four mins in the room, during which she informed me I need a scan.

Now they've booked me in for a blood test (next week) and referred me for a scan, which she said should be soon...and then clarified that by 'soon' she meant 3-4 weeks.

So for now, I carry on as I am. 🤷‍♀️

Seems like I'm not going to get much chance to use this month's scan- even if I did ovulate as the test suggested, I'm bleeding too heavily to get anywhere near my OH! 😖

Another month goes by...and as I watch my 35th year disappearing in the rear view mirror, I'm feeling highly depressed about the whole thing. 😢

All this bleeding sounds really serious. Do look after yourself and go back to the gp or hospital if it doesn't go away.
