Confused with dates

user1497125747 · 11/06/2017 17:06

Had 4 scans already and 2 have dated me as conceiving 10th march and 2 conceiving 8th. My issue with believing these dates are I tested positive on the 14th it was faint but 100% there getting darker each day after. I thought it was 100% impossible to test positive after 4 or even 6 days after sex !!! Any advice ?

They date your pregnancy from the day of your late period not conception.

Why is it so important?

ijustwannadance · 11/06/2017 17:10

Last period

JoJoSM2 · 11/06/2017 17:28

As explained above + all these days are only approximations.

user1497125747 · 11/06/2017 17:36

The date of my last period was the 12th of February. And them dates would be 22nd and 24th so it's all miles off and it's important to me as if like to no how far I am and because it basically makes no sence the whole thing.

If you're worried that the baby might be growing too slowly, then perhaps you could discuss that with your healthcare provider? Also, haven't you got a due date?

user1497125747 · 11/06/2017 17:41

And I no that's how they date things but 2 weeks after is around when you would have conceived and what am saying is that the dates theyv given is impossible. I can't possibly conceive and get a positive 4 days later. It's odd and my midwife doesn't take me on so it's quite frustrating

I will do thank you and yes it's 29th of November.

You must have ovulated early on in that cycle OP, not everyone ovulates on day 14

user1497125747 · 11/06/2017 17:50

Maybe I'll get a more accurate date at my 20 weeks scan. I know it's physically impossible to test 4 days after youv had sex or apparently conceived. I feel like they just don't believe the things I tell them 😂🙄 it's really frustrating, midwifes like your dates are wrong and am like NOOO your dates are wrong !!! 🙈

You asked this on a previous thread, your only 100% answer is to get the DNA test after baby is born

disneykid · 12/06/2017 08:07

It's not a big gap, no one will know for sure.

You've already posted about this. Get a DNA test.

user1497125747 · 12/06/2017 09:48

I've spoken to a doctor last night and he said there's zero possibility of getting a positive 4 days later so I wouldn't need a DNA test because it's just not scientifically possible. And I did post twice because I was worried and confused, didn't realise there was a limit. Some people come across very blunt and unsupportive.

Both my babies due dates got moved back a week, at the 12 week scans. This means I would have got a positive at 5dpo both times. I don't think I got a positive at 5dpo, I think my babies grow slowly in the beginning.

user1497125747 · 12/06/2017 10:19

Thanks speckyb, it's more for paternity TBH. I no it's my own fault and am not looking for sympathy, I just couldn't have the child if it was the 2nd mans (slept with him on the 10/03 and get the positive on the 14th) for various different reasons.

It's just hard knowing what to do for the best. Don't think I would of gave that a second thought only my first 2 scans dated that I would have conceive on the 10th. Theyv since been changed to the 8th so that's before the event. Just really confusing

It'll only be fair and right be do a paternity test after the baby is born. You had with the two men too close together to just decide that one of them is the father without doing. test.

user1497125747 · 12/06/2017 20:09

I don't think so when I've been told it's physically impossible by a doctor to conceive and show positive in 4 days. So it can only 100% be one persons
