Ovulation without period?

I've recently (4momths) came off he depo injection, I'm trying to get pregnant but I have no periods, can you ovulate without one? I do ovulation tests and they show a surge but never positive, I have cramps and niggles etc but never actually get a ovulation strip that is the same as the control line. Is my body gearing up for my periods returning or just completely messed up from depo?

Any advice is welcome, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

I've reported your post (I hope you dinmt mind) because this is the contraception section. And it sounds as if advice on preventing a pregnancy is the last thing you are after.

The 'conception' topic is likely to have posters who have more experience/knowledge about this.

From the contraception QPOV, btw, it can take a while for depot to clear your system and for a cycle to resume. But as you ovulate (typically) 14 days before a period, it is possible to conceive before the first one.

How often do you do the tests? The surge can show up in the evening. I only every caught a surge by testing 3 times a day around the time I was supposed to ov. I conceived ds without ever catching a surge.

I'm in the same boat as you OP. Depo finished December 2016, had one period in February, nothing since. I have tried taking ovulation tests too & all come back negative. I'll be watching this thread with great interest. Beginning to feel fed up.

I came of the implant after 7 years with no periods got caught 4 weeks later sadly currently going through an ectopic but yes you can ovulate and conceive before getting your period x

I've been testing twice a day, I'm taking agnus castus and dong quail too, I'm sure my body gears up for a period or ovulation cos I feel twinges and aches but nothing ever happens, I think I was hoping I'd be a lucky one and not need a period, I'm currently cycle Day 159 atm :(

In march I was convinced I was pregnant had pulls behind belly button, aches and cramps, felt sick etc done a clearblue test and it showed two lines straight away then faded but I took that to mean positive was all excited went and bought a first response cos my sister told me not to trust blue dye tests and sure enough it was negative, bloody clearblue fooled me I was gutted and since then have become a bit obsessed with trying to get my body back into a routine/rhythm cos I'm 35 now and my egg supply is fast getting crapper :( husband thinks I'm stressing myself too much and could be helping delay period, I know he's right but I'd never tell him that haha.

Just try not to stress about it will take a bit to get into normal regular cycles ect. I'm gutted about both as I had to canxel.my holiday to Spain due to fly out yesterday morning but doctors wouldn't let me as I could still rupture so couldn't risk it. My 7 year old took the news of no holiday pretty well so getting myself better and rebooking our holiday for 6 weeks time ( have his 8th birthday over there). We can't try for 3 months due to the meth injection which is going to be so hard! Just relax usually happen when you least expect it like me xx

Don't be silly just one of those things unfortunately! Glad I found out before it ruptured would of been alot worse then so something to be thankful for. I do know with depo it takes a while to get back to normal just have fun trying till it happens lol x

I'm assuming so as I got pregnant after coming off of cerazette without having a period in between

When I was trying for our first I came off the pill in April, didn't have a period at all and fell pregnant in July. This time I've been off the pill since November, had about three periods since then (last one in March), and I've just found out I'm pregnant. It can happen but I think it's down to luck if you catch it at the right time. I know how frustrating it is.

Think my age is what is scaring me I don't feel 35 but everyone does a sharp intake of breath and says 'ah you better get a riggle on think of all the health risks' blah blah blah I could scream. Tonight I done my evening ovulation test and again it looks nearly positive never gets all the way there but as you say Stee1 I can just have fun till it happens ;) lovely to hear actual real stories from women who have succeeded it gives me hope. Always had a faint line on ovulation test then got pregnant and wanted to use the last in the box was 2 left and they were very positive which is strange lol. Obviously mine didn't turn out well but I'm ok as it was too soon after my implant I think. Good luck x
