Curious - What does an implantation bleed look like?

Just curious......and can't help but symptom spot even though i know that half the time it means that AF is on the way!

Mine was just a small spot of watery blood, as if AF was on way. I'm guessing different people get different symptoms though!?

I think it is supposed to be a spot or two of pinkish blood, a few days before your af is due.

Although I had a bleed a few days after my af was due, that was basically the same as a period. Rest of pg was fine and dd is 4.5 now. This has the unfortunate effect of making me distrust my period as a sign that I'm not pg. I'm the one still doing pg tests after my af has arrived, just in case!

Only got it with preg no2. It was the same time as AF due and just like the start of my AF so some blood but not much

rubles · 19/03/2007 18:46

It was just like the very, very, beginning of my period but then stopped at that.

FC2007 · 19/03/2007 18:59

ahh. so you could think you were about to start period

Yep but then it went away
Then I was confused, not helped by the fact that I need to be v late to get a +ve on any of the tests

Nikki76 · 19/03/2007 19:44

It was a very light pinky colour, like period was going to start, only one big splotch and then it went away completely...I did two tests and both were negative....only got a positive result when period was 4 days late....

I had really strong implantations pains, about 4 days after ov, bang in the centre so definitely couldn't be confused with ov pains. I had what I think was a bit of an implantation bleed, actually about 3 days after af was due, just dark brown spotting, and only for one day. Didn't even need a pad or anything, really tiny amount.

FC2007 · 20/03/2007 10:31

So am I right in thinking that it would happen from anytime from 4 days after ovulation up to when your period would be due anyway?

I think so, perhaps even after that. I have heard of people having what they assume to be implantation bleeds after they've got their bfp, at 5 weeks pg and more. So long as it's old blood, ie brown, it's most likely to be implantation bleed in the first few weeks of pregnancy I think.
