I've heard people saying that it's easier to get pregnant 2nd time round? Took me 10 months at 28, really don't want it taking so long again (I'm 32 now so not too old)

But for others it takes far longer. Pot luck.

MotherofBoy · 08/06/2017 09:14

Hmmm not in my case. One period off the pill and I was pregnant with DS. 4 cycles in and counting for number 2.

BeyondHope · 08/06/2017 09:52

Not for me either. First month with my DS. 2 years and 4 miscarriages later with my current pregnancy. All pot luck though.

Spanneroo · 08/06/2017 10:08

We struggled much more with the second unfortunately, so I think it's just luck of the draw. Maybe people who struggled to conceive number 1 were more relaxed when trying for DC2 so the time felt like less?

ScienceGeekGirl · 08/06/2017 12:09

Hmm guess I'll just get comfy on the conception boards. DH and I have decided anyway to give up at 1 year of trying. We have our wonderful DD, that's should be enough. Guess I'm my head I just don't think it'll actually happen.

It took us 5 months the first time and 2 months the second time.

SpeckyB · 08/06/2017 18:50

It took us 10 months the first time and the second time was first month. Good luck!

IndianaMoleWoman · 08/06/2017 20:12

20 cycles first time, 2 cycles second time. It's all random though.

1Potato2 · 09/06/2017 21:45

3 cycles first time. 1st cycle second time. Both times on holiday😄

Praying4BFP · 09/06/2017 23:47

I'm 22 DH is 27... we're on month 16 and still nothing. Getting a little hopeful with a few squinters and maybe evaps this month. But don't want to get my hopes up. I get so ridiculously jealous at the oh we only started trying on Friday and now I'm pregnant... it really wasn't that hard people 🙈🙈 give me some of that baby dust F@#*!r x

DramaAlpaca · 09/06/2017 23:50

It took us almost a year the first time and the second one was first time of trying.

Hope it happens quickly for you, OP, and anyone else trying.

10storeylovesong · 11/06/2017 09:19

It took us 10 months with first, and currently 24 weeks with second after ttc for exactly 3 years with 4 miscarriages in between.

I have a lot of friends who struggled for their first and fell really quickly with their second.

I hope it works out for you!

fizzytonicplease · 11/06/2017 09:41

I'm also hoping it will be quicker to conceive with the second as it took us 2 years with DR and we will be trying again next year and I will be 36 then so I'm very worried

fizzytonicplease · 11/06/2017 09:43

Ds not Dr! Also wanted to add that since having DS my period are very regular 28days and I get ovulation cramps. Before having DS my period were anything from 29 to 35 days so I'm hoping this will work in my favour

Grimbles · 11/06/2017 11:06

It's been about 3 yrs so far trying for our second, and it took about 3 yrs to get pregnant with the first.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 11/06/2017 11:08

Totally depends but I now know 4 couples who needed IVF for their first and their second was a total surprise with no help - needless to say, v small age gaps! So fun. Good luck!
