If it's more than two weeks since ovulation, you would get a positive on a home pregnancy test. You would only get a false negative if it's too early...

I take it you mean your strings couldn't be found?

When I had a Coil about 7 years ago I had to go for a routine 'strings check' about six weeks after it was put in to ensure it was still in place but my GP couldn't see them. I knew I couldn't be pregnant as I'd not had sex since it was put in which was the advice given back then.

Anyway, I was sent for a scan which showed the Coil was still in place but the strings had just been drawn up into my womb instead of hanging down out of my cervix.

I was told it wasn't a problem about the strings as they won't affect how the Coil worked so I could resume sex as normal.

Not having strings hanging down meant it was a complicated process when I wanted it removed but for the duration of the time I had it (almost 4 years) I didn't get pregnant.

It is very, very unlikely you're pregnant if you've had a negative test but if I was you I would be using condoms (or abstaining) until the scan shows the Coil is actually where it should be.
