DTD during fertile days- BFN!

How common is this? Got AF today and DTD the day of ovulation and two days prior to that. Obviously we weren't successful! Am I naive to think that because we DTD during the "fertile" dats we should have made a baby? How common is it for couples to do everything properly and still not get a positive at the end of the cycle?

Very common. Not many couples conceive first time, even if they DTD at the right time.

It takes the average couple a year to conceive so you have a roughly 1 in 12 chance of getting pregnant every month
Which means you have a 11 in 12 chance of not getting pregnant, so it is very common

With DD2, we DTD at the right time every month for 11 months until I got my BFP - so yes, unfortunately you are being very naive! Good luck for next month though.

How long have you been trying?

Yeah I thought this when we first started trying! Sadly it's not the case! Getting pregnant is harder than it looks- even if you do things at the right time.

Very common. Me and DP are on month 4 of trying and we DTD everyday through the fertile period. Keep at it though, it will happen x
