Please can someone help a stressed mum! Ds is 20 months. When I conceived him i had a 28 day cycle used ov sticks and had a positive on day 14. Great!
Am now ttc again and my cycle varies between 25 and 29 days long. I used an opk last sunday evening which was positive that was day 15 of my cycle but I still had ewcm on tues am (day 17) so I'm now thinking if my af arrives on wednesday my luteal phase may only have been 9 days long. I've read this isn't long enough for a pg. Can anyone put my mind at rest?

Yes bcb, the LP needs to be at least 10 days long.

I have only discovered since starting temping and using OPKs that my LP was 8 days.

I have been taking vitamin B6 for a few months and my LP has just increased to 10 days so it does seem to work.

Perhaps you could take a look at the charting software (ovusoft or fertilityfriend) these will help you work out which day you OV and your LP.

Hi buttercup
don't panic! sounds so reassuring that your cycle is from 25-29 days - that's really very regular. might not feel it if it was always 28 before but sounds v regular to me. and the kit shows you're ovulating. so regular cycles and ovulating and you know you can have a baby... sounds really hopeful for conceiving soon. I dont think you should worry about any one single cycle that seems a bit out. and any way surely you should count from day 15 and not from day 17? 15 - 25 is plenty of luteal phase.
I conceived my last baby on day 9 of my cycle which was a surprise as usually my cycles are 30 - 39 days, but I threw in an early ovulation, and bingo. so cycles can just do odd things, dsnt mean you aren't fertile.
good luck! has it been a long time ttc? hope you don't have to wait much longer

Thanks so much for the messages . I was really lucky with ds getting pg on 2nd cycle. This is only our 3rd cycle. I feel a bit pathetic worrying like this as I know there are lots of ladies ttc baby number 1. I'm a real worrier and I also think that because most of my friends have taken a lot longer ttc their second babies that it could take me ages. Last time I didn't even know what a luteal phase was. I think I may well have od'd on cycle information from books I've been reading.

ttc is just so unpredictable! like kids generally. i'm sure it will happen for you in the next few months. and you have ds1 to keep you busy while you wait !
perhaps you would be more relaxed without counting cycles for a bit? I could never stop myself checking though ..
