2 week wait my symptoms

I ladies, I remember reading lots of on the 2 week wait when I was TTC so I thought it's only fair that I give back and share my experiences.

All this is in hindsight, I tried very hard to talk myself out of noticing anything at the time.

my first symptoms were:

  1. shooting pain on the side of my right breast on the day I believe conceived. But I ignored this at the time and put it down to pregnacare which I read had been giving people fake pregnancy symptoms.
  1. About 4DPO ( I don't technically when I O'd this is going by my own estimation). I gagged while brushing my teeth. That never happened to me before. So I put it down to placebo.
  1. About 5DPO I had a big O and had cramps. That has never happened to me before. But I was super stressed at the time so put it down to that.
  1. At about 7 DPO I woke up on the middle of the night with strange cramps. It was moderate cramps but with a heat and vibration in my uturus. It felt strange. This was very unusual for me because although I get bad period cramps I never get cramps prior to my periods. So this is around the time I'm thinking something is up.

5: all through out the DPOs I was getting some cramps and some a dull ache in cervix.

6: Around 11DPO to 14 I was having full blown period cramps. At this point I thought my period was due and took lots of painkillers.

  • I strongly advice anyone TTC to only take paracetamol if you're having cramps. A lot of painkillers are unsafe in pregnancy. Especially the more heavy prescription only ones, which I was on.

7: From 8 DPO, my CM was watery. I usually don't get any CM. I didn't have much- I've read some women experience heavy discharge. I didn't but it was noticeable.

8: finally on the day I decided to test about 17 DPO I got what looked like tacky greenish/yellow discharge. Almost like snot. Very unusual for me. I decided to test on that day and got a BFP.

I then had no symptoms until 8 weeks when all hell broke loose.

This is so helpful thank you for sharing

Happy to share.

I forgot to add: I've seen some reports online that cramps are actually a good indicator for pregnancy. If you don't usually get cramps before period and you're getting them 1week-10 days early then that might be a good indication. But I've also had friends who said they never felt any different.

The two week wait is truly too long to wait! Baby dust and good luck to everyone trying. I hope you get your good news soon. X

Shock reading that I would think you got some sort of an infection and not a bfp! Really goes to show how people experience things differently.

lol yes it seemed that way to me too. I didn't believe it was anything because it was a) so slight, b) presented no other symptoms, no odour no itchiness etc. But I did see my gp and have BV/Thrush and STD check-just in case. All clear. So it seems to be another inexplicable pregnancy quirk.
