Hi ladies. You've probably seen a million threads like this. I'm new. And I'm a liiiiittle bit desperate. I'm 25, have PCOS and don't actually have a clue what's going on with my body at the moment. I don't have very regular periods. Last time I had them was 20th April. Before that 6th of March. Recently, I've been incredibly bloated from the minute I eat breakfast every day. I eat something and BAM, bloat. Headaches are almost every day too. I'm having odd spasms in my lower abdomen and for a few days, my tummy literally gurgled. Like, so loud my fiancé could hear it! I seem to have developed a few spots on my face as well and his never happens to me. I never wear make up either so can't be a build up of anything. I assumed all of this meant my period was on its way however all I seem to have been getting for the last 4/5 days is brown spotting, TMI sorry. Not enough for a pad and really only when I wipe. One of those occasions, instead of brown, it was a more clear CM with streaks of red through it. I even got my eyebrows threaded yesterday and as I was laying back, I had to overwhelming urge to sit up as I thought I was going to be sick. Anyone had the same? Should I chill and wait for AF to appear as that's most likely what this is? Or could I be pregnant? I've never had this before. I've done about 8 HPT over the last 4/5 days and all are negative but I read that PCOS can affect a positive result? Any suggestions would be super appreciated. I am desperate to know what's going on here!

If you are pregnant enough for symptoms, you are pregnant enough for a positive test. Sometimes we all get mad PMS...

That said, it might be sensible to wait another few days and do another test, by which point you will know with reasonable accuracy either way. BTW, what you report just sounds like PMS... even if it is just different than what you normally get.

Honestly, no need to panic.

I have PCOS and have been pg 3 times, resulting in 2 DC (1 MC) and I have never ever heard of PCOS affecting a pg test.

Thanks ladies! Was starting to get a bit panicky as this is nothing like my usual PMS. Very reassuring to hear that it sounds like normal PMS even if it's different to my usual. About PCOS affecting a test, I hadn't heard of it either however was on a thread earlier in the week and there were quite a few posts about it. Baffled me but then, I'd never heard of it before.

Maybe they were talking about pcos affecting opk tests?? Because that is not uncommon...

MrsW2017 · 22/05/2017 12:42

Ah! Very possibly. Don't know what an OPK test is. I'm 25 but nowhere near ready for kids!
