Day 3 and 21 blood tests

Can someone please offer some advice - my doctor has asked me to come in for day 3 and day 21 blood tests. I'm wondering what you would count as day 1 of your cycle? I currently have bright red spotting on wiping, but not heavy enough to wear a pad. Is this day 1 or is it first day of full flow bleeding? Also, if day 3 fell on a weekend, would you go in for the blood tests on the Friday or wait until the Monday? I just want to get this right! Thanks for reading x

I'm about to have those tests and my gp said that whilst they're referred to as day 2 tests they can be done on either days 2,3 or 4. So so long as you hit one of those days you'll be fine x
