Hi, is there anyone in the same boat as me? I'm 40 in October and trying for my first.
A little background after taking the see what happens approach we have decided to actively try, I have had 2 early miscarriages in the last 8 months and have been given a high dose of folic acid to take by my dr.
Apart from using ovulation predictors and temping does anyone have any tips or advice?

I am 39 and 10wks pregnant with my first baby.
I did temping and used Ovulation sticks but just out of curiosity tbh.
My biggest tip would be just to have lots and lots of sex! We have sex every day - often more than once. We didn't time it, we just enjoyed it.
We used Preseed and DP also took wellman vitamins. Got our BFP on Cycle 6 after stopping the pill.

Thank you for your reply, Firstly congratulations!
I think we're going to try the same to be honest we are really conscious of making sex a chore so I'm going to use the opk but not temp and aim for a minimum of every other day.
What are preseed and DP? Is that something you have to get from your doctor? x

I would do what you can to work on egg quality, as it gets worse with age. High dose co enzyme q10 can help. Have a look at the book "it starts with the egg"- lots of tips on things you can do.

Sorry about the miscarriages. Flowers

Oh yes- you could also try the book "the impatient woman"s guide to getting pregnant". I read it a lot when we were trying.

Thank you so much, I'll be book shopping on Monday!
Can you buy that from somewhere like holland and barrett?
I'm so glad I posted on here, all my friends already have had their children years ago and today I've heard of 2 pregnancies and admit I'm feeling slightly sorry for myself lol x

I would buy it online- you need the ubiquinol form (it's co enzyme but in the best form for body to absorb).

Ok I will look into that today, thank you so much for your advice xx
