Am I pregnant?

Parmaviolets13 · 13/05/2017 20:53

So, me and my partner aren't actively trying but in the mind set of it it happens, it happens etc. We feel it puts too much pressure on you otherwise.

Anyway, we had sex about a week and a half before I was due on. I am due on today, and nothing so far.

I took a test yesterday which was out of pure curiosity, which was negative.

I know it's possible to get pregnant any time of the month, but a week before you're due on seems a bit close? Is it likely?

Any advice would be wonderful :-)

Ps -
I bet as I post this I come on!

Depends on how long your cycle is and at what point you ovulate in your cycle - I think the average is 14 days before AF is due.

I only had one complete cycle between coming off the contraceptive injection and conceiving so don't have a lot to go on but that cycle was only 26 days long and I ovulated on day 18 so 8 days before AF was due so it can happen!!!

Best of luck :)

Not 100% sure on my cycle but I'm usually dead on when I'm due on AF!
I do have an app but it's pretty rubbish so I don't think il go by that.

Thank you! 🙂

I have a very long cycle and ovulated 6 days before AF when I conceived. It is possible!

haveacupoftea · 14/05/2017 04:18

Its not likely but definitely possible!

KateSMumsnet · 14/05/2017 08:54

Hullo chaps,

We're just going to move this over to our conception topic!

Parmaviolets13 · 14/05/2017 10:46

No sign on AF this morning, went to the loo and even that didn't bring anything which sometimes it does. Think it's time to POAS 😱

Good luck!

Parmaviolets13 · 14/05/2017 15:04

Hmmm negative ☹️ Not sure whether it's because it's the afternoon and not the first pee or I'm just being overly optimistic. Oh well

Hi parma
I'm now 5 days late and had a negative clear blue test.
I did do 2 tests yesterday that showed a very very faint line.. but I think they must have been evap lines.

Maybe you should try with your first wee tomorrow. Best of luck xx

Parmaviolets13 · 14/05/2017 16:55

Think il try again tomorrow morning you're right 🙂
Good luck to you too, sounds positive! (No pun intended!!)

So I've got one line on my test, but if you hold it to the light you can see another line but it's not in dye. It's almost as if it's where it should be if you see what I mean? Is that just so the dye knows where to go and this test is negative? So confused. No AF :(

Shine your phone torch through the other side to see if there's any colour in it

user1488788454 · 15/05/2017 08:08

i know a lot of people don't like them but go out and buy a clear blue digital! Only way you will find out 😊
I had the same type of results as you're getting and was in 2 minds whether I was or not, wasn't until I seen the 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' on the clear blue that I truly settled!
Good luck 👶🏼

Parmaviolets13 · 15/05/2017 08:27

Thank you 🙂 Think il buy a digital one and then wait for AF, there's only so many negative tests you can have before you realise you aren't! Haha

They are pricey but definitely worth it! I only had one previous test which came back slightly positive before the digital, the rest were as you described so you never know!

Sending positive baby vibes your way 👶🏼 From a now 36 week pregnant lady 🙂

Parmaviolets13 · 15/05/2017 12:34

Did a digital, and a very big 'not pregnant' came up ☹️

I think the fact that you're disappointed means maybe you should move from not really trying to actively trying!

user1488788454 · 15/05/2017 14:01

So sorry to hear 😢
I used the Ovia app to know when I was ovulating etc, I had the same attitude as you though as we weren't actively trying but I stopped taking the pill and just thought we'd see how things went!
We were ridiculously lucky and fell pregnant 2 month later, keep going and your miracle baby will happen 👶🏼

Parmaviolets13 · 15/05/2017 19:36

Maybe you're right Myother. Maybe it was a wake up call so to speak.

Thanks user, think we'll have another chat and see what happens 🙂
