So we are 5 months into ttc and still zilch....
Someone suggested acupuncture as a way to help relax and aid with fertility etc...
I've made an appointment for in a few weeks time. I just wondered what everyone's thought on acupuncture and fertility were and whether any one had any experience of having acupuncture whilst ttc.
Thanks xxxx

I had acupuncture the first time ttc as I had a short (7ish days) lutal phase and had heard that it could help. I had about 4 months of treatment (every 2-3 weeks) and it did lengthen to around 10 days (which is still technically too short) however I did manage to get pregnant anyway!
As to whether the acupuncture was the reason for my lutal phase lengthening of course no one can tell, but I enjoyed the treatments and it made me feel better thinking that I was "doing something about it" even if that really was a bit of a placebo effect.
We're now trying for #2 and I am trying acupuncture again as still breastfeeding #1 who is 19months so periods hadn't returned. I have had 4 sessions so far and first period arrived at the weekend. Again, that may have absolutely nothing to do with the acupuncture, but again it just makes me feel like I am taking positive action!
It's not cheap - but if you like the idea I'd say give it a try, even if you just enjoy the hour lying down listening to some soothing music it's probably worth it 😀

It may be coincidence but I had two goes of IUI which didn't work, then a third with acupuncture which did, so I credit acupuncture with getting me successfully upduffed!

I have just gotten so wrapped up and stressed ttc I thought this could help me calm down and relax about it all.
(I've even started doing fertility yoga 🙈)
I know it will still take time but I'm so pleased to hear you both found it helped and this in itself gives me some hope!
Thanks ladies!!xxx

Just coming on to say that I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant with my first, after unsuccessfully ttc for
over a year. DP and I are on the older side st 36 and 43, plus I was having short irregular cycles and a short LP.

Started acupuncture just before Christmas - cycle regulated to 27/28 days almost immediately, LP lengthened by one day, and after two CPs in December and February, this bean looks like it might actually stick! Smile

I'm not 'woo' or into alternative stuff at all, but I really do rate the acupuncture for helping to sort me out - it's also incredibly relaxing, and I found it really helped with the stress of ttc. Pricey but worth it imo.
