Hi all,
Thought I'd start the June bus as af arrived this morning. Biggest kick in the teeth as my sister baby bombed me on her first cycle this weekend and I am now on cycle 10. Trying for our first too.

Hopefully this will be our months!!!

Something odd... so I keep reading the lh surge happens in the afternoon?

So I've been testing (cbdov) morning and late afternoon so I don't miss it, as I think I have previous months. Yesterday 5pm - flashing smiley (high) so no lh detected.

This morning, static smiley (peak)!! - so I'm confused now as to when the peak 48hr window really started - would it have been yesterday afternoon or this morn? I'm assuming yesterday. Luckily dtd last night, otherwise would be so upset!, and will again tonight. Hope that's going to be enough as dtd this morning is not an option with a toddler up and about!

X

Impatientmummy36 · 23/05/2017 07:48

Mother of boy same here, first time was pregnant within first cycle after coming off the pill! I really expected it to be the same this time, I wish I'd started reading these threads sooner and we'd have started trying much sooner. I'm 36 though so I'm worried that's slowing things in my case. Hopefully not though!! Good luck this month to you X

Impatientmummy36 · 23/05/2017 07:56

Bluespotty I'm also due af on 8th. How soon do you normally test? X

Ladydolly I have one of those too, just turned 3. I was hoping for slightly smaller age gap but its looking like he'll be nearly 4 at this rate even if we conceive in next couple months! Mine was a great sleeper until we started trying for baby, now he seems to have a 6th sense for it and comes in the room to interrupt!!! Hope you managed to get in enough tries! X

ladydolly · 23/05/2017 08:33

impatient dc1 is still in a cot so no escaping to interupt!

We didn't dtd last night, I wasn't feeling great. But, temp hasn't risen and still getting positive opks so possibly hasn't happened yet and can try night. I'm old so wonder if I'm releasing more than one egg?

MaxBsMum · 23/05/2017 11:37

Morning ladies, can I ask a question?

If AF turns up at 11pm do you count that as CD1? It's always really confused me. I want to think I'm CD5 now (AF showed up 11pm Friday), but in reality I could be CD4.

Am I the only one that gets a little thrown off when this happens?

MotherofBoy · 23/05/2017 12:30

max is count it as cd1. I got af at 2am once and counted that day as cd1 rather than day before iyswim.

Cd5 here and af finally finished. Bring on the fw!

MaxBsMum · 23/05/2017 12:43

Thank you MotherofBoy, that makes me a little happy. I'm also now CD5.

Fingers crossed for this month

BlueeSpottyTiger · 23/05/2017 13:08

impatient ermm... like 7dpo 🙈 haha even though i know it will be white. With dd i was 9dpo, but last cycle i got my bfp on 13dpo after having a bfn 9dpo..10dpo..11dpo! I think i only implanted on 9dpo last cycle..
However i think the cp has messed with this cycle because im cd 11 now and i only have the worlds faintest faint line on my opk.. last cycle i got a positive opk on cd12! It literally went from negative to postive within 3 hours x

BlueeSpottyTiger · 23/05/2017 13:12

Here was my two opks last cycle on cd 12.. the left pic was at 2.30pm and the right pic was at 5.30pm.

June Bus - hoping for that elusive BFP
Laurajonesy · 23/05/2017 13:28

Ladies!! Good luck to you all on the June bus! I am now officially out, went for a smear today and I have thrush so no more dtd for us Confused never had it before so a whole new experience lol! Good luck everyone

Dillonc93 · 23/05/2017 14:45

Hey ladies!

So odd question, does anyone know if the length of your af matters? Mine only ever lasts two days maximum Hmm

MotherofBoy · 23/05/2017 15:06

That's a good question dillon I have absolutely no idea!! Only logical thing I can think of is that if your af lasts longer you have more lining to shred therefore it thickens more?! But really I have no idea. Would be interested if anyone knows the answer!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 23/05/2017 21:08

That is a good question! I have tried looking on google- can't find anything about it!?
I have ewcm which i get a few days before ov usually but still no second line on a opk like usual 🤔 hmm

BlueeSpottyTiger · 23/05/2017 21:09

But it does say 2-7 days is the normal range, 3-5 days is most common x

Anban · 23/05/2017 21:33

Think af may arrive a week early this month, bloated, nipples are tender and generally feeling grumpy. However, I also have a bit of a sore troat so it could be stress/allergies - can't be upduffed as haven't dtd this month. Anyway, if she does show up early it completely throws off my cycle calculations but it does mean that we can start ttc a little earlier than planned and could have a June bfp after all. So excited to start trying, I picked up some ovulation tests from superdrug but have no idea how to go about it yet Grin just know I don't want to miss that window!

Viletta · 23/05/2017 22:34

@Dillonc93 short af could potentially mean that your endometrium is not thick enough in the second phase, however it can also be a normal thing. Mine are 3-4 days and quite light. Perhaps an ultrasound would reveal it?

Dillonc93 · 23/05/2017 22:38

mother I was thinking that myself!! Can't seem to find anything on it though!

blue yeah I read that it's within the normal time frame, but not sure if it alters when I'd ovulate? I will not begin frantically poas

Dillonc93 · 23/05/2017 22:40

viletta I've had loads of scans, bloods etc done due to recurrent miscarriages and everything has always come back as normal ... but I did mention it at a gp appointment today and he just looked extremely awkward and said maybe google?! Hmm

MotherofBoy · 24/05/2017 07:53

Oh my gosh dillon I can't believe your GP said to google it??!! What viletta said was what I was thinking. If you have recurrent miscarriage could you ask GP for another referral, specifically asking that question as I bet my bottom dollar GP wouldn't have a clue if it was an issue or not or if it is what to do about it but a gynae certainly would.

Impatientmummy36 · 24/05/2017 09:09

Ladydolly keep them in a cot for as long as poss, we had to move ours out when he learned to climb out!! Sure you're not, though that's how I feel, how old is old?!! Hope you managed to get in dtd. I'm hoping we've done enough... xx

Bluespotty I've done that too!! It's so disappointing and you do it even though you know it's too early then kid yourself every day that it's just too early and you could still be pregnant until... af arrives :( . I have never been this focussed on anything, wish I'd put this much commitment into work, I'd be CEO of a ftse100 company by now ! xx

ladydolly · 24/05/2017 09:42

impatient luckily she's got really short legs so can't get out!

I'm 38. I was 35 when I had dc1 and was considered and older mum then!

We dtd last night as well but I'm still getting positive opks and no temp spike yet. Not sure I can convince him to have another go, he's working really long hours at the moment :(

Impatientmummy36 · 24/05/2017 13:26

ladydolly I'm 36, 33 when I had my little boy and I am starting to worry my age too... i do think that's the reason it's taking longer this time. Same problem here as well, he's knackered and working really hard with loads of stress at work so dtd every night is proving a challenge! I don't use opks I use the clearblue version but assume it's similar and think I'm in same position i.e. I'm in the peak 48 hours (the lh surge) but not sure if ovulated yet so don't want to stop dtd yet in case! So trying every night and it's exhausting!!

Tonight is apparently important football match so I need to somehow get little boy asleep for 6.30 in order to pounce on him when he walks in door, and before he goes off to watch the game... and he won't be in the mood I'm sure... ah the romance! X
