Anybody else in limbo, waiting for periods to come back after the pill? I'm only on CD29 but fed up already!

Yes...well sort of Confused stopped taking the pill on 29th March and AF finally turned up on 28th April. Forgot how awful cramps were! But not sure if my cycles are back on track so obsessively checking OPKs....my DH said to chill out haha supposedly it can take up for a year for cycles to return to normal. Good luck x

It took me four months after the pill to get my period back. Waiting to see if next weeks arrives on time, hopefully it does as it will prove im back to normal again.

Dont panic as it took me ages ans apparently it can take up to 6 months to become regular again!

I'm waiting to see if my cycle will sort itself out after a disastrous 4 months on cerezette... first cycle post pill was 20 days, next was 36 (by which time I was convinced I was pregnant despite 3 negative tests!)
Going to start temp tracking I think, but I have a toddler who still wakes every hour and a half so I don't get the 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep you are supposed to get!
Anyone know it the ovulation kits are worth it?

Thanks for the company ladies.

I suppose I'm particularly impatient and symptom spotting because I caught on a first (but long) cycle with DS. I didn't realise till I was 7 weeks, thought it was just my periods regulating, so this time I'm POAS more regularly just in case. The ridiculous thing is that we weren't even planning to start trying till the summer so there's really no rush.

I'm trying to stay away from ovulation tests until I've had some normal cycles. Wonder how long I last!

Hope I'm as lucky as you papillion How did you manage waiting 4 months littleone
How old is your toddler flibber? My DS is 21 months and was a bad sleeper till 15montha. I only started feeling broody again after a few months of proper sleep. You're very brave!

Thanks squashy! We weren't going to try until later this year but as soon as I came off the pill i was suddenly "i want a baby now"! My SIL has just had her first so feeling the pressure and read too many horror stories! Good luck, I'm sure AF will show her ugly face soon x

Im having a right mare of it,i came off the pill in jan, had my withdrawel bleed then a 28day cycle. Only on it about six months so thought yay. Next cycle was 51days, with a really painful ov (not using opk but the signs were there) i was 21days late by the time a light af arrived. it was shit i can tell ya. Three day af then off again. Signs of ov began at cd11 this month, so thought id regulated, then cd 15 i start bleeding, only light but slightly heavier than spotting, two days later and its stopped, wtf now dont know if im cd17 or cd3, ffs the pill is the devil lol.

Wow that sounds super hard!

Four months of nothing was worrying but I had lots of other personal stuff to deal with eg my partners brother died and we moved house. So worrying about a missed period wasnt that important at the time.

This month ive has a super painful ovulation. 6 days of constant stabbing pain after I ovulated and now super painful and swollen bobs and the odd stabbing pain down below. Not sure if this is good pms signs or my body is still adjusting to new hormones.

I tried ovulation sticks but they stressed me out too much. Holding yr pee in for four hours each time is too mcuh when I pee every hour.

Good luck everyone, remember to try not to stress too much about yr period as stress can delay it even more.

InsideOutUpsideDown · 05/05/2017 12:22

Littleone i remember you from another thread, you probably remember me too....i was the moaning nuerotic one lol. Im so hoping my obviously hormonal body starts adjusting soon. Day two of uncontrollable crying at everything and day three of bleeding, whether this is another af or not i dont know, its pink and watery and isnt accompanied by with cramps as normal af is. It seems to stop overnight then starts spotting the more i move, so pissed off with it all. Its stopping and starting every few hours so dont know whether to count as an af or not.
I also never noticed ov pains pre pill but since the two months i have had an af ive definately noticed more cm and quite sharp pains, extreme bloating on and off aswell as nausea and sickness.

Littleonek · 05/05/2017 16:38

Haha

My first period afte the pill was super super light, not much appeared on a towel only tampons. Which for me is rare so I think when periods return they come back super light. Im hoping this month will be light and not super heavy. Or even a positive BFP.

Ive also taken vitamin b12 which helps with cramps as I used to get them really bad. And dont take ibrophen for cramps as its meant to thin your blood and make your period worse - not sure if this is 100% true.

Make a note of all of the symptoms you have so you can compare to each month. Im doing it on an app called Life so next month when im at the same point eg three days before my period I can see if these are normal issues for my body.

That sounds like a nightmare insideout I guess it's a reason to keep dtd as usual without stressing over dates, but also means you need to test regularly when cycle is so erratic.

Sorry to hear of your loss littleone
Hope you have more positive news very soon.

Hey ladies! I'm having a complete nightmare over this, it's my first time TTC, came off Marvelon last August after about 12 years (!) and only had 2 visits from AF since my withdrawal bleed! First cycle was 90 days, second was just 45 - and I've had nothing now since Jan!! Had some very painful and weird cramping in Feb, GP did blood tests but hormone levels seem to be normal. Was worried I had PCOS as my skin was horrendous. Seem to have got that under control through supplements and diet - lots of green tea, cider vinegar, cinnamon etc... but absolutely no sign of AF!! Had a BFN on Thurs so I know it's not that!! We have some ovulation tests but after 100 days and more, I don't want to use them until my next AF!! What would you all recommended?
