Hi,

I got my blood test results back today and was told it was satistactory. The progesterone level was 65.3.
I believe this is good but just need to confirm it with someone who knows more than me.

Can anyone help, please?

I think I ov'd on day 18, compared to the usual day 15. I had 2 +ve opks before the day of Ov. I'm using Ovusoft but not temping this month.

oops! satisfactory.

low progesterone levels on day 21 mean that you did not ovulate that month, however if was done on exactly day 21, you might have 'missed the boat' so to speak if you ov'd late, or your cycle is not a textbook 28 days.

Hi 3cats
I had a day 21 test done last month and my level was 50? GP said that was fine and that it meant I had ovulated? But like you I have no idea what the levels are meant to be / what the range is?

Yours was quite a bit higher than mine so would think it was fine - But I would love it if someone knew/could tell us what the ranges are /should be?

Maybe Atilla the Meerkat might pop by - she is the goddess of facts!

3catstoo · 13/03/2007 14:18

I've tried looking it up but can't really decifer the results.

I guess we have both ovulated, Seaside, but yes it would be good to know what constitutes 'normal' levels.

Lets hope Attila can help us.

my doctors never even told me my level

3catstoo · 13/03/2007 14:25

Mine onlt told me because I asked. Otherwise I would have just been told that it was satisfactory. I was just interested to see if it was obvious or borderline. A bit daft as I can't even interpret the results .

Just searched and found this thread from last year - atilla helped then too!- so although not all the answers and not clean cut it does seem that safely over 30 is good?

As usual it seems everytime there is some info there is also a contradiction eg someone geting pg with a really low prog levell etc TTC - what a laugh heh!!! - not!

old thread

3catstoo · 13/03/2007 14:45

Thanks Seaside. I will check that thread out.

I just called my Gyny's secretary. She said 65.3 is very good. She didn't elaborate.

Hi

Have just seen this (was on another thread).

Looks good re the progesterone level.

Have you ever had your LH and FSH levels looked at, these two are usually measured earlier in the cycle.

seaside72 · 13/03/2007 14:50

Thanks Atilla

I have not had any other tests done yet (except stupid AMH which is still baffling me ) I think I need to have the FSH and LH ones done next - what are the right CD days for those Atilla?
With my GP it seems I have to just make a appointemt on the right day and suggest the tests as he is not brilliantly proactive !

3catstoo · 13/03/2007 14:55

Thank you. I haven't had either of the other tests done.
I am seeing the fertilty clinic on 10th April so maybe they will want to do those too.

I hate reading those 'When my test result was 60, I was pg' It gives me hope and makes me sooo want to be pg, but it just doesn't get me anywhere. By that I don't mean anything about the people writing it, just me interpretting (sp?) it.

Fingers crossed for us all.

Just noticed this & wanted to say Hi 3Cats & to wish you luck with your appointment in April.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 14/03/2007 08:01

Day 3 is a usual date for LH and FSH levels to be tested.

seaside72 · 14/03/2007 08:15

Thanks Atilla

Hi Jag,

How are you?
Any news?

OP posts:
JAG123 · 14/03/2007 20:36

I'm fine thanks. Still no news but I have my Lap & Dye next Wed not really looking forward to it.

cityangel · 14/03/2007 20:47

3catsoo could you ask your GP to refer you to a specialist unit that are more geared up to explaining these tests and coordinating the timings for you? Whilst there is a wealth of information online if they did them over the one cycle and interpreted the results collectively that should help?

It obviously varies hugely from GP to GP because mine in London didn't do a single test and referred us straight to the sub fertility unit. Its swings and roundabouts as we'll have to wait longer for the basic tests but I am hoping they'll coordinate them?

3catstoo · 17/04/2007 14:30

Are you out there Jag?

Just wondered how your lap & dye went?
How are things?

My appt was OK. Had more blood tests today.
I have to wait for one of those dye xrays now. Could be a 4 month wait though.

Hope you are well.

Take care.
