AF Blood and stuff

Hi AF arrived on CD34 (which is good for me as I have PCOS), the only thing is it is very dark brown, very light, and the odd clot. I have no pain (usually I have to have at least one day on nurofen/paracetamol etc), just slightly worried, I feel sick, started on Monday where I was typing away on mums net, then thought I might pass out so had to end everything quickly and get some fresh air. Usually I'm quite heavy (blood loss wise), just wondered if anyone else was going through this or had even suffered with AF like this....
Thanks

Have you done a PG test - sounds v similar to the implantation bleeding I had with DS?

fells · 06/07/2004 21:55

Just discovered this website. Seems great! What does AF stand for? Assume it means a period! Trying to conceive at the moment. Ovulated about 8 days ago and period due in about 6 days but have had a bit of bleeding today - not enough for a tampon but a bit brownish. What could it be? Could it be an early miscarriage or is it too early for that? Should I be concerned?
Thanks!

Malinki, it's day 34 for me today and AF arrived at 2pm but not normal AF - it may get going properly tomorrow but like you haven't had to take pain killers. No clots though, just a bit of blood (sorry ladies).

Fells, AF stands for Aunti Flo! Who thought of this?

MTS & SKBF,
I am really confused about this, started bleeding red, almost slimy stuff like mucus, but blood, 2 days ago and now its as though I don't have to use anything, should I do a test or leave it. What is the implantation bleed like and how long did it last, today CD5 very brown, but like I say don't have to use anything, its only there when I wipe (too much info I know) and last night was the same.

Hi Malinki - I had what seemed like a very light 3 day period, with cramps, completely different to normal. If it is not implantation bleeding, it could be a threatened m/c, or there is a small chance it could be an ectopic pg. I definitely think you should test, and go to docs if it is positive, mainly to rule out possibility of it being an ectopic. Go for First Response or Boots own brand tests if you can.

Test!
I have just gone through this and I am pregnant. Mine was exaclty the same but before Af was due and it stopped on the day it was due....

ermentrude · 07/07/2004 23:13

I went to the docs today as I was a little worried about the reasons which mummytosteven just mentioned
the doc said it is very very common in early pregnancy and most likely means nothing.
I tested last weekend and got a positive and tested again yesterday (i know...) and got a really strong positive
good luck

I wish mine was spotting but have to face the boring reality that AF is here! Drat although very light! It's funny how AF can change after children. I used to be doubled up in pain for first two days unless I dosed myself up with Nurofen x2 four times a day. I also had to lie down with hot water bottle - I was like an invalid! The following five days were then fine. Maybe instead of groaning that I am not pregnant, I should thank my lucky stars that AF pain free!

malinki · 10/07/2004 13:06

This gets worse, its all over with (AF), but I have a stabbing pain in my left ovary and running along to my hips. I haven't tested as last month spent loads of money on tests, but still feel abit sick. CD8 today, if I did have a true AF, if not then CD 42.

malinki- think it would be a good idea for you to go to the docs over this. if they think you may be pg they will probably do a test on you anyway. hope you feel better soon.

Staceyk · 10/07/2004 13:14

Malinki
I have a feeling not a true AF, if my memory serves me right don't you normally have 60 day cycles? To me it seems promising, think worth a test.
You could be our graduate for this week!

biketastic · 11/07/2004 12:20

malinki,
I do hope everything is ok with you. I think you should test, and do it now. I had a scare that I had an ectopic pg. I don't want to worry you,but do follow it up, even if you are neg and the pain doesn't go away.
Let us know what happens.
Good luck
