Ttc using co enzyme q10?

Could I ask if anyone here tried co enzyme q10 to conceive?

And also went on aspirin after bpf?

Not an exact science but wondering if it's worth it. I've read it starts with the egg. I'm over 40 and had one miscarriage, one dc already.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't think it makes a difference age wise. Did you take it during pregnancy? I think I'm only going to take it till I ovulate / we potentially conceive.

I'm confused though; did the post mortem show an issue due to what you'd consumed?

As I say; the aspirin thing was as I'd specifically been told to go on it in early pregnancy by a consultant who delivered my son, with iugr. But then it seemed to be at 12 weeks. The latest dr seemed to think it was ok earlier but wouldn't have made a positive difference to my mc.

Great to hear that ubiquinol worked for you!

For anyone considering trying CoQ10/ubiquinol out, it’s important to pick a CoQ10 supplement that is both water and fat soluble to be sure you are absorbing it. Feel free to PM me if you want the study information!

Hi can I join the chat?
I have been taking ubiquinol solgar one at 200mg I think since my last mc in December. I think solgar are a good name so hoping that is one of the proper ones? Anyone know?
I am 35 with two mc in the last year, no children. It is all just so miserable, I would take anything if it meant I got a take home baby at the end of it.
I am on the full 'it starts with the egg' protocol, I really needed to feel like I was doing something positive for our chances. So every day I take around 9 tablets as I wanted to make sure i was taking the doses she suggested.
I would also be interested to know what your are all planning to take when you get pregnant again? I won't continue the ubiquinol if I get a bfp, but want to make sure that I am taking the best possible supplements.

@ckc45d10 how would you know it was fat/water soluble?

@Miami81 I'm so sorry for your losses. That is very tough. I've heard Solgar is a good brand. if it says Ubiquinol and not CoQ10 then I'd say you've got the right stuff. The thing we were talking about upthread is that your body converts CoQ10 (which we get from food) into Ubiquinol but that as we age our bodies lose the ability to convert it. I've read that it starts to decline from age 20! So some say that taking CoQ10 alone is a bit pointless, saying that though there are some very inspiring stories on here about people using it and falling pregnant. Dunno really. I bought Coq10 but am going to use it up then switch to Ubiquinol.
What else are you taking? I just take a full fertility/pre natal supp plus the Coq10 and probiotics.

Also wanted to ask those who took Coq10/Ubiquinol, apart from the fertility boost did you feel any extra energy boost?

Miami81 · 14/04/2017 09:52

@littlemimosa
Thanks for that. Well I just got another bfp this morning. Hoping against hope that the last 4 months of ubiquinol etc really helps.
I think I will stop taking it now.
In terms of what else I am taking, it is pretty much all the normal ones that are in the pre natals, I have upped my dose of folic acid due to bmi and have been taking vit e as well.

Congratulations @Miami81, I so hope this is a sticky one for you huni. Bet you have a mixture of emotions today. All the best to you.

@harry78 - 400mcg I believe but please do check that. I think all pre-natal supplements will be the same if you compare the quantities on the ingredients..

@Miami81 - how are things going?

Ekphrasis · 24/04/2017 22:53

Just for an update - I've been taking it pretty much since I started the thread.

I'm someone who isn't very far away from cfs symptoms most of the time. I am just starting to notice that I have more energy. (One of the reasons I took it).

I will temper that with the fact that during my brief pregnancy I did put on probably needed weight and strength (I noticed that first pregnancy) so there could be links to that too. I am starting to surprise myself though with what I seem to be able to do.
