We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

wiggley the blanket is super cute.

hb am with you on the wouldn't have a baby shower team. Not that I have anything against it, just not for me. I did have to play the guess the chocolate in the nappy and it was a bit gross especially when some started to taste them!
Glad you're all booked in with a lovely midwife

mummy enjoy New York. One of my fav places to visit. Fx for this cycle!

confused good luck for your scan tomorrow and you too tigger

Quick question for humped ladies - did anyone ovulate late (after CD17) and got their BFP? I'm a little worried about late ovulation as if it's a short luteal phase then the pregnancy won't stick. I don't know if the body will sort itself out if you ovulate late and the egg gets fertilized. Hope it makes sense!

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 19:52

otters I think I ovulated on CD17, didn't get a bfp till 9 days after af was due!

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 20:03

otters your luteal phase should always be the same length (unless you're taking medication to change it) so if you ovulated late then your body should adjust

otters2017 · 19/04/2017 20:08

buzz and mummy thanks. Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy with the whole TTC. Trying hard not to worry but it's almost impossible as it's always at the back of my mind.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 19/04/2017 20:52

Hey guys, I've had a full on day at work, now done loads of housework and having a quiet eve with DD, DH is out with some mates. I changed the bed linen - clean sheets are such a nice feeling!

My symptoms (sore boobs and tiredness) have basically disappeared over the last 2 days Hmm I'm trying not to worry given I had no symptoms at all in my last pregnancy and just be grateful that I'm feeling good at the moment. As I had to cancel my 8wk reassurance scan due to being in America from next Tuesday, so I won't know if all is ok until my 12wk scan at the end of May! Seems an age to wait. Argh. I'm 6+3 today.

Confused good luck for the scan tomorrow that's so exciting Grin

Otters did you get a positive OPK / static smiley recently? Sorry if I missed that! My memory is so terrible these days. Baby brain is real!

Hb congrats on getting booked in and being low risk! I would also not want a home birth for my first baby as it's such an unknown unknown. I'm going for one this time though as I think/hope my body will remember what to do! I'm thinking a pool as it's less messy?? Lol!

Tigger glad you are feeling like a fresh start. Big hugs!

Laura good luck in the final countdown! It will all be worth it on the day! I was so stressed before my wedding I lost half a stone which was great but the day itself was the best day of my life!

Penguin27 · 19/04/2017 22:24

Good luck for the scan tomorrow confused!

How exciting to be all booked in now Hb! Seems odd that they didn't seem interested in how you're feeling, but like you said I'm sure there's plenty of time for that later down the line! Will you have the same pair through your whole journey? Also, remind me what job you have that allows you to be a professional nosy cow? I want it!

Glad you're feeling good grumpy! I'm sure the next 6 weeks will fly by, you'll be getting that scan before you know it.

I don't think I'd want a baby shower either. I don't like being the centre of attention and would hate to feel like I'm expecting a load of presents that I might not like. Not for me!

HbH · 19/04/2017 22:45

Haha penguin I'm a mobile hairdresser, so I'm not only get told everyone's deepest darkest secrets/gossip/scandals but i get to nose in their houses too!

I think I'll get the main midwife for all of it. The student will probably be on a placement but she's qualifying in august and applying for a job at my hospital so she said she might see me there! The main lady was older/very competent/senior but the student had slightly better bedside manner, a tad more approachable maybe!

grumpy just getting into a fresh bed too! Nothing better! & it's all mine as DH is on nights! I'm gonna sleep so well bar the loo pit stops

JB1983 · 19/04/2017 23:20

Glad your feeling better tigger. Hopefully your cycle will get back to normal now dancing I hope you remember to pee in to your cup tomorrow.

Eek laura not long at all now until the wedding and TTC, how exciting. Is your brother still threatening to cause trouble with the wedding?

Glad your all booked in Hb. Next step - scan 😃
I wouldn't be opting for a home birth, but that's probably just my job that has put me off. I only see all the things that go wrong with obstetrics and none of the straight forward stuff, which makes me more fearful of the scary outcomes. I just know I'd like to be in a hospital next to the blood transfusion lab, haha!

Have you ovulated now otters? I'm still waiting for a positive OPK.

Good luck for tomorrow confused.

Fx this is your month mummy and you don't see AF again for 10 months.

Mummyme87 · 20/04/2017 05:54

Hope scan goes well confused
No home birth for me either but not because of the safety around it as it very safe for low risk women.. not that I'm low risk after my caesarean last time. From the birth place study it was found that for first time mums a midwifery led unit was the safest place to give birth and for 2nd time mums home births were safest.. delivery suite always came last for low risk women. We have just had a a load of our own midwives having home births in the last 6months 😊

I'm up for our airport pick up 😴 I'm worried DD will be sad 🙁 I'm sure he will have a fab time with my sister but he won't know where we have gone 😞

JB1983 · 20/04/2017 07:15

That's reassuring mummy, as I say we are only ever involved when things go wrong so it gives a very one sided view of childbirth. Enjoy New York, you'll have an amazing time x

Seven0fNine · 20/04/2017 07:22

Awww mummy have a brilliant time! Fingers crossed for Baby Brooklyn 😂

I think I'd like to give birth in a midwifery led unit first time (there's one quite near us attached to a hospital) and then home birth after that. I do love the idea of a home birth but think I'd be too scared in case something went wrong.

Hb I failed in my mission last night... Although we ended up having sexy time...it was the wrong sort...
I wish you lived closer and could come and cut my hair..I hate going to the salon - always feel so self conscious.

JB1983 · 20/04/2017 07:46

CD19 and looks like it's ov is imminent. Going to a trampoline park tonight which will surely help dislodge the egg from its follicle if nothing else 😂

Thanks for the luck ladies... i am just sat in Costa trying to kill 30 mins before we go in... now feeling very very sick and nervous and having just ate breakfast its not mixing too well Sad

orangefolly · 20/04/2017 08:13

Morning everyone!

Good luck confused - I'm sure all will be well

JB that's hilarious! Grin

I had a good trip away with my friends, despite AB turning up. I gave in and told a couple of them we are TTC as one (as predicted) was hassling me about when we're having a baby. It was actually a massive relief to say it, and I discovered that one of my friends had struggled massively with conceiving both times (now expecting DC2). Nice to know it is more normal than you think for it not to happen immediately Smile

Hope you all had good Easters Easter Smile

orangefolly · 20/04/2017 08:14

Oh and have a great trip mummy

buzzmoon · 20/04/2017 08:33

Good luck confused!
Have an amazing time mummy!

Penguin27 · 20/04/2017 08:46

Ahh how exciting confused! Hope it goes well!

Ooh Hb, hairdressing is definitely suited for us nosy cows Wink Are you on SE London by any chance? Need a new hairdresser, the salon is so expensive.

What job do you do jb? Sounds like it's very stressful and upsetting if you only see the side of things going wrong...

So last night in the hotel was eventful... Fire alarm went off at midnight. We were getting ready to go outside when it stopped, so DH went to check and they said it was a false alarm... then the fire alarm goes off again at 7.20! When we were getting ready, it stopped again but we didn't bother to go and check... there was actually a fire! Some wally put croissants in the toaster.

buzzmoon · 20/04/2017 09:25

Oh god penguin! What a nightmare!!

Wiggleyfingers · 20/04/2017 09:30

Ahh Penguin I would have been asking for a free breakfast! Are you going home today?

MrsC2017 · 20/04/2017 10:08

Oh penguin what a pain in the neck!! I'd be so mad!
confused eek best of luck!
mummy enjoy new york!!

If I was a whizz at giving birth I would def do a home birth, must be bliss to get into your own bed after, as it happens I'm not very good at giving birth it seems so now I need the opposite!

confusedat23 · 20/04/2017 10:55

Oh god Penguin what a nightmare!

So ladies i present to you baby Confused... who is very very active punching and kicking its mummy and gave the scanner an extremely hard time whilst he was trying to get the measurements. Due date has been pushed back a day to 27th October which was better than expected. Nuchal Fold was 2mm which is perfect for screening but still need to wait for blood tests 😍

JB/Grumpy I know it's becoming a little too real now though for my liking! So stressful...I did get a second dress the other day just to change into after first dance as my main dress is soooo heavy I dont think I could stay in it all day Shock. As for my so called brother I have no idea, I hope he doesn't show up but he's so inconsistent with this moods it's really hard to try and figure out whether it's going to be destroy mode or happy mode.

All the best confused can't wait to see the scan..making all the rest of us even broodier than we are (if that's even at all possible Grin) haha!

I don't think I'd want a baby shower either ladies, I'm too fussy with certain things especially baby clothes and gits and I'm quite an outspoken bolshie person but when it comes to people staring at you for several hours and being the cetnre of attention I'd rather eat my own arse cheeks I think haha!?

xlaura · 20/04/2017 10:57

Confused Congrats on the perfect little bundle of joy! Glad everything is okay...will you be finding out the sex or are you leaving it as a suprise?

MrsC2017 · 20/04/2017 11:01

Awww yay confused!!

Wiggleyfingers · 20/04/2017 11:15

Yay Confused! How lovely!! So happy for you SmileFlowers
