We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Oh no dancing ! The only thing i could find to wee in were plastic pint glasses left over from a party.... you absolutely can't miss those 😂

Rubbish you've been postponed again tigger

Excellent humping seven

otters2017 · 19/04/2017 11:56

tigger glad you're feeling better and you got your bfn. Sorry about scan being postponed. Hopefully you'll definitely get it tomorrow

wiggley wedding plans sound great, won't be long now. How exciting to be planning a baby shower too. I probably won't resist shopping for myself!

dancing glad your oh is super chilled. Will be a strong rock of support going forward.

seven keep humping Wink

laura hope your wedding goes well and Fx for a honeymoon baby! I had AF during my honeymoon, a real bummer. Should have planned for my FW!

Happy Wednesday ladies. Not long now till the weekend again Smile

MrsC2017 · 19/04/2017 12:41

Hi girls,
Back from few days away, was lovely to get away, but I was so exhausted the whole time, like physically tired, everyday feels like I've just tackled everest at the moment! Have been reading but Internet was crap so my posts wouldn't upload! Been feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything so hoping that feeling will pass, I think the emotional side effects have ramped up this week too!
wiggly how exciting to have your dress fitting! You'll have a ball on your wedding day and plenty of time to ttc after!
laura yours is so soon now too, and ttc is starting very soon, exciting times ahead!
tigger so sorry you're going through all this and they keep delaying you, really isn't fair x
dancing Crap! It's so difficult to wee in them tiny cups! You'll have to get some of hbs pint glasses! I think the counselling is an excellent idea and you are right to remove the possibility of extra anxieties as much as possible so waiting until after AF is probably best.
seven sounds like you're covering all bases, Fx for you!
confused that's lovely that the baby is bring you closer to your family! That definitely happened when DS was born, he is the ultimate light in my families life and has brought so much joy in his 7 years.
grumpy I'm so glad you're feeling more positive! Even if you start feeling anxious again at least you know next time it will pass as quick as it came in.

I have decided on the travel system I want too and I'm quite happy to get it second hand as it costs a fortune new, only problem being its rather rare it seems, it's the icandy peach jogger, there is no end of regular peaches but this one is the all terrain version with three wheels and not so common it seems so will have to set some money aside and keep my eyes peeled and pounce when it comes up!

DancingUnicorn · 19/04/2017 12:54

I can't even claim I missed... I just forgot! Thing was sitting all clean on the side of the bath. Probably for the best, no real need to test atm! It'll probably just make me more eager!

xlaura · 19/04/2017 13:20

Thanks wiggley I am gettting rather excited. OH isnt very in touch with his emotional side and the last few times he's actually brought up talking about babies etc. He said he cant wait to build the nursery furniture up and have little family days out which is always refreshing to hear!

Otters aww no?! Bad planning indeed...I'm hoping I would've caught by honeymoon but I'm not getting too hopeful as I have the worlds worst diet and I know these things can intefere with conception. I wont be doing a test until I am back from honeymoon because I know I wont be able to contain myself if I do fall quick.

MrsC I know it seems to come round so quick now...I remember when I come off in January and thought to myself 'God this is going to be the longest 15 weeks of my life until May* but just over a week left and I'm so excited.

Anybody recommend anything? I've read so much but theres so many stories since I joined MN I've forgotten all the little hints and tips you lovely ladies have said along the way?

Seven0fNine · 19/04/2017 16:24

Wiggley I organised my sister a surprise baby shower which probably wasn't the best idea as I nearly put her in early labour we kept the surprise so well. It took her 10 mins of crying before she could even cone in the room as some friends has flown in especially. I did afternoon tea too with games. Mr and Mrs style "what would your DP do if he went to the shop and your baby did a massive poo and he forgot the nappy bag" sort if thing which her DP helped with. I got her this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00S50LUTC/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1492614961&sr=8-11&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=baby+shower+sash&tag=mumsnetforum-21
And I got everyone to bring a baby photo and she had to guess who was who. I played video messages of love from her friends who couldn't come. My SIL melted chocolate in nappies and she had to guess the type of chocolate but I wouldn't recommend that...it was a bit gross!

There's lots of ideas on pinterest! That's where I got most of mine from!

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 16:43

seven that sounds so fun! I don't know if I'll have one really- never really thought. Do you all think you'll have a shower? It's more an American thing isn't it? Sounds like fun though!

Tigger83 · 19/04/2017 17:05

Loving the baby shower ideas guys sound amazing.

Feeling so much more myself today. Bfn has really helped. Negative opk do feel like a fresh start today. Oh and I are going out for a long walk to celebrate. Still got some pains but think the drugs are helping.

Laura the plans are all sounding exciting for the wedding!!

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 17:07

Buzz it is definitely an American thing and I'm not a huge fan to be fair, it seems like another excuse to get lots of presents! But they can be lovely too.
Seven love the baby photo idea! Will definitely be stealing that.

So less than 24 hours and I've already failed, quick trip to primark earlier and found this super cute Bambi blanket! I couldn't resist (£6!) and so soft and snuggly! DP was a bit Hmm when I told him I was going to wrap our cats in it as I'm still with an empty womb! Bless him putting up with my crazy, broody ways!

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 17:08

(I wouldn't actually wrap my cats in a blanket - I was joking! Not sure if that was clear Grin)

Seven0fNine · 19/04/2017 17:11

Haha wiggley my cat would wrap herself up in that blanket so cute!
I'd hate one myself. Give me a spa day any day but it was perfect for my sis because she has lots of friends and loves to be centre of attention 🙄 Hehe xx

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 17:40

Oooh yes seven spa sounds lush! Think me and DP are going to do a mini moon in England at a spa as I'm not sure if I'll want to travel. Well I think I'd love to have a bump and be on a beach somewhere drinking mocktails, but my FIL said something when we told him this weekend about flying and now I'm like HmmI know it's fine! And I double checked nhs website and it said it was fine but I'm really worried, 1 if anything happened and 2 cause he'd be all judgey about us going.

Love the blanket wiggly

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 17:53

I'll have a look back at posts later on this eve. Hope everyone is well and taking care of themselves.

I'm CD6, AF over and done with.. hopefully for the next 10months 🤞🏻 I've started weeing on CB OPK sticks today. I've also added selenium in to my daily drugs as I read they are an anti oxidant and can help protect the egg, also helps make sperm faster and stronger swimmers.

Off to New York tomorrow morning, uber excited 😊

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 17:56

Oh and on the baby shower front, I had two 😐 One with work girls as they insisted, 2nd was a joint one with one of my BFFs. I did get lots of presents which I didn't need or ask for, I did enjoy the games and food

TheGrumpySquirrel · 19/04/2017 18:03

Mummy have an amazing time in New York! How long are you away for? Good luck with the CB OPKs are they the dual hormone ones? Fx for you this month!

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 18:07

Wow Mummy enjoy NYC! I went a few years ago and loved it. How long are you away for?

HeyJupiter · 19/04/2017 18:14

Ahhh just wrote a really long post and lost it - silly internet.

Anyway have loved reading all the updates, wiggley the blanket is gorgeous, tigger so pleased that you got your BFN and are feeling more positive! Roll on tomorrow and getting the scan all done. mummy will have everything crossed for you this month, enjoy new york!

:)

Penguin27 · 19/04/2017 18:25

I'm this thread always makes me smile, I love hearing (reading?) about everyone's lives! Nosy cow!

Enjoy New York mummy, sounds amazing!

Loving the blanket wiggley. My DH won't even let me browse baby shops or even the baby clothes sections of shops, he says it will "ruin the fun" for when we have to do it for real!

Glad you're feeling a little better today tigger, hope you enjoyed your walk.

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 18:26

grumpy yes dual hormone CB OPK, I've used them since cycle 2 and quite like them. I use them alongside IC OPK.

I'm in NY until Monday evening when we fly back to london. I've been three times before but not been for about 9yrs. OH has never been before

confusedat23 · 19/04/2017 18:48

So glad you got your BFN Tigger sorry about the scan though!

Dancing thats so funny! I did that a few times whilst OPKing and got so annoyed with myself lol

Contraversially i can't wait to have a baby shower... i just want to play all the fun games and get everyone really excited for the baby.. i didn't have a massive hen do and i don't like being centre of attention but i see the baby shower as more being about the baby..

I hope you have a lovely trip to New York Mummy!

Wiggley that blanket is so so cute!

So i'm getting a little nervous about the scan tomorrow now =/

HbH · 19/04/2017 18:54

Ah enjoy New York mummy, pleased to hear you're over AB and ready to take on this cycle (the last one FX!)

The baby shower plans sound fun.... I'm on the 'I wouldn't have a babyshower' team tho! I think all my girls know this hopefully
Glad you got your BFN tigger & you're feeling a bit more yourself!

penguin I'm totally a nosy cow too! One of the main perks of my job is I'm basically a professional nosy cow😂

So I'm all booked in now! The midwife is lovely & had an equally lovely student with her (who luckily wasn't far off qualifying so her blood taking was painless!) DH was excited but I found it quite procedural and thought they didn't really ask how i was doing/feeling! I suppose there's time for that down the line! Looking forward to getting a scan date tho, it won't feel like it's all in my head then!!

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 18:54

Confused I'm sure it's normal to be slightly nervous! Is your DP going with you? What time will you be there? I will be watching and waiting eagerly for the scan pic and update 😊

HbH · 19/04/2017 18:55

Oooooh it's your scan tomo confused, hope all goes well hun Smile

HeyJupiter · 19/04/2017 19:10

So glad it went well Hb, does it all feel more real? I've found some info on my midwife and she has been described as a "ball-breaker" but very experienced and knowledgeable. I quite like soft and fluffy but I'll forgo it for someone who is efficient and knows what she's doing. We shall see.

confused good luck for tomorrow original-cycle-buddy. Can't wait to hear all about it x

HbH · 19/04/2017 19:34

I don't think it will feel real til the scan jupiter !! The positives were she said i was very low risk (even tho i have asthma which i had heard could make you higher risk) They were both pushing a home birth, i said I'd consider it but i really don't fancy it!! I want to be where the drugs and surgeons are if need be!
