We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Morning everyone. Not loving Monday!

Thinking of you today Tigger

I am full on into the TWW symptom spotting craziness today. 1 minute: I am definitely not pregnant. No symptoms. Next minute: is that a funny taste in my mouth? etc etc! I have a weird period-type feeling today but have no idea if it is even uterus or something else in there

mummy it never occurred to me to pull them apart - I am so doing that when I test now, haha. Fingers crossed for you. I am trying to hold out til Thurs

orangefolly · 10/04/2017 12:50

*Afternoon

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 12:52

Thanks all for listening to my moaning!

Buzz weirdly with my wedding there was minimal interference I think because DH and I didn't tell any family anything till it was all organised!
You can find out the sex at 10 weeks with a private blood test (harmony) that also checks for chromosome problems. But you need to have had a scan to check you are actually 10 weeks. The test is like £385 near me but another £85 if you need a scan. So I'm wondering if I can bear to wait for NHS scan first... makes sense not to tell people until you've had at least 1 scan I guess.

MrsC and buzz DH knows I told my 2 best friends and my yoga studio. He doesn't know I told my old yoga teacher (who is 20weeks pg herself), my massage therapist (this morning!), or my cousin (at the funeral, because her kids have chicken pox, but I know she won't breathe a word) 😬

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 12:53

Lol buzz tell your parents to act surprised!

MrsC that's exactly it, I've finally got this sorted, organised nice life, now I'm being held hostage by a little being growing inside me and I feel totally out of control!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 12:55

Thanks JB I'm trying to basically ignore my mood and not take it seriously if that makes sense? Work is so busy but hope to do some yoga in my living room later, it's empty right now so will set up my mat with a big mirror and nice music.

HbH · 10/04/2017 12:55

Aw Grumpy sorry you're feeling rubbish, can you get a few things in the diary over the next couple of months to look forward to? I know you've got lots of work travel but even just little things with DH/DD/besties might give you landmarks to look forward to especially when you're abroad

Seven your list is incredible, & exactly the why this group was started in the first place (if we can remember that far back!!) i will TOTALLY be the EOD police!! 👮🏻‍♀️

We planned to let our immediate families know at Easter too! (Popular choice i think) I'll only be just over 7 weeks but like others, everyone will be together, and i would tell them if anything went wrong either way. The closer it gets i kind of feel I'd like to keep it to ourselves a bit longer but I think we'll do it!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 12:56

Orange how many dpo are you?? Exciting.. mummy I bet you are upduffed 🤞🏼

Tigger83 · 10/04/2017 12:56

Hi all so booked in for the op first thing tomorrow, it's a relief to be honest.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 12:59

Hb thanks a lot yes I have got a day off to myself on Friday as DH will already be in France and DD still with her dad so wondering what to do with all that free time ha ha! Also got next Friday off to celebrate my birthday (31 boo hoo!) and meant to be going on a shopping spree with my best mate but wondering what for now I'm fattening up for the next year??? Baby stuff? Handbags?? Also no boozy lunch 😭
It makes sense to tell family at easter I guess I'll just see how I feel when we get there.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 13:02

Tigger glad you have some certainty on what's happening when. Hope you are ok as can be.

Everyone's different with respect to sharing the news I guess it's very real that things don't always work out and I'm not sure id want the whole family to be feeling sorry for me / talking about it if I told them and then scan showed bad news.

HeyJupiter · 10/04/2017 13:10

Tigger I'm so pleased for you. I'm sure that is a huge relief. Will be thinking of you tomorrow morning. How are you and your oh bearing up? Are you in any pain physically?

mummy I can very confidently see something in the second picture! Tentative congrats but very excited to see what the next few days bring.. when are you going to test next? Fingers and toes crossed for you!!

Red glad you had a lovely weekend!

Oh Grumpy so sorry you're feeling rubbish. I've been surprised at how difficult it is feeling exhausted and hormonal. I hope it passes soon. We're telling family this weekend - it is a lonely time and I'm desperate to speak to my mum about it all. I know it starts snowballing when people know but you might help your mood too. I'm feeling quite out of control at times, I totally empathise.

Seven I LOVE the action plan!! Psychologically and physically so good. This month may be the one. EOD-ing is hard but worked for me and DH although admittedly once I'd ovulated I lost interest.

buzz yay for Friday!! So excited for you (and envious!) Will wish the week away for you :)

MrsC sorry you've been feeling up and down. It's a real rollercoaster this pregnancy lark. So happy about your scan though, bet you can't wait for early May!

orange so excited for you this month! Did you like the lube? I think it felt quite nice Grin how many DPO will you be on Thursday? Glad we've got some testing due this week.

Tigger83 · 10/04/2017 13:14

For me loosing the baby has been quite revealing in who I'd tell next time, there's a couple of friends who I've told I've had a miscarriage that I didn't tell I was pregnant who next time I'd tell. I'm glad I didn't tell everyone I was as it'd be so hard having that conversation. So I guess my only advice is tell those who you'd lean on if the worst happened. As grumpy says it's such a personal choice there's no right or wrong.

orangefolly · 10/04/2017 13:26

Glad you've got a timeline tigger - good point about people you would lean on too.

grumpy and jupiter I think I am either 6dpo or 9dpo today, but basically I am not sure!! That makes me either 9dpo or 12 dpo on Thurs... oh, I might crack with the ICs though.

jupiter yes I did like the lube! Although I found applying it interrupted the flow a little on occasion Grin Let's hope it's still lucky - so kind of you Smile

Redpony1 · 10/04/2017 13:26

You're being really strong Tigger, I'll be thinking of you in the morning x

buzzmoon · 10/04/2017 13:31

You're so right tigger, glad you've got support around you ❤️ the conversation must have been so tough 😔 can't imagine what you're going through. Will be thinking about you tomorrow. What are you doing this afternoon? Big Brew and Cake ❤️

buzzmoon · 10/04/2017 13:32

orange think you should IC in the morning, yolo 🙈

penguinsandotters · 10/04/2017 14:00

Thanks for the advice on opks. I have CBFM which I used months ago but as I wasn't ovulating, it wasn't helpful. Now I'm on clomid (which hopefully will help me ovulate) I think it might be a good idea to start testing. Not sure when to start so might start from day 10.
Debating if I should temp as well or not but no clue about it. Do I need to temp for a few cycles to see a pattern?

dancing hope this will be a nice peaceful week for you. Have you got some time off over Easter?

tigger how are you feeling? Good point about who you'd lean on. I do firmly believe that it's your true friends that will be with you for good or for bad. Sending lots of hugs and Flowers

grumpy sorry you're feeling down. Really hope things improve for you soon.

seven love your list - I am totally stealing that list. Have also just decided with DH that we are going to try EOD this cycle from yesterday. As I'm not sure if am going to ovulate or not this month (Fx yes!) we thought it best to have it covered.

buzz do update us after your scan on Friday. How exciting! Not long to go now.

mummy i have rubbish eyes too can never see a line. Good luck and hope you get your BFP.

orange hope the 2WW goes quickly for you. Are you going to test early or wait till AF is due?

Tigger83 · 10/04/2017 14:09

I'm doing ok, think I've cried my tears. Today was ok, tomorrow will be tough but closure at least. I'm not in lots of pain just a bit uncomfortable. Don't have a great blood test so bad bruising which hurts.

I'm snuggled on sofa watching say yes to the dress with tea and bridal mags! Buzz when is your wedding?!

buzzmoon · 10/04/2017 14:15

96 days tigger 😱😱😱 did you decide on a venue and set a date? Sorry I can't remember! I tried my dress on again at the weekend, it's all really starting to feel real! Don't feel prepared at all though!! laura yours must be really soon now?? And wiggly? :)

Tigger83 · 10/04/2017 14:22

Tipi in a forest! (The same tipi company as you!) early sept next year so plenty of time for me.

confusedat23 · 10/04/2017 14:22

Tigger Thinking of you... are you able to have a nice hot bath this evening or anything? and I hope you are not in too much discomfort.

Buzz I was really really pissed about the pram... tbh I have been ranting all day about it and wondering if I was out of order for being pissed but people seem to be agreeing with me (or maybe that is because I am the grumpy hormonal pregnant woman)

Mrs My scan in on 20th when I will be 13 weeks... I am finding it really really hard to wait though.

Orange I can;t wait to see if the Lube Exchange has been successful for a 3rd time first go! It literally must be magic if it works! (Not saying that you and DH have not put ALOT of effort in too!) lol

Mummy From that test I am like 99% sure you are upduffed... FRER are normally paperwhite and to get anything is just amazing... How many more do you have in... do you have enough to try tomorrow?

I think the thing about telling people is interesting... my Xsil told us all at 6 weeks and then misscarried at 10... luckily my Xmil was on hand to do the phonecalls around to everyone so that they did not have to tell people themselves. Apart from that (As she was a slightly larger girl) we would have actually never known she was pregnant in the first place! So really there was no NEED to tell anyone... but some people (Like me) who look 6 months pregnant at 11 weeks might fair better telling people so as to stop the awkward questions (My nan keeps bothering my mum and dad about my weight and that DH is not feeding me correctly etc as we have not told her yet)

Today marks the first day I spent at least 5 mins just before lunch dry heaving over the toilet at work... I heard sickness can hit later on but I really thought I was one of the lucky ones lol

buzzmoon · 10/04/2017 14:33

Ah tigger yay! How weird it's the same company!! Did I post the pictures of the open day? I'll PM you them otherwise! :)

Seven0fNine · 10/04/2017 14:46

Yeah Hb Police me!!! I will have a glass of wine if I need it just gonna take it easy.

Fingers crossed orange that the lucky lube has done the trick!

Confused I really love the Cossatto prams too - the fabric is just awesome. I can't wait to be pregnant and go pram shopping and just pop into mother care just for a look. Feel a bit of a crazy woman doing that now! I just look online instead all the time

Mummyme87 · 10/04/2017 14:51

I have two FRER in the house still, will try and hold off until Wednesday to retest if I can.

tigger I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/04/2017 16:22

Right I have booked a private scan at 10+1 on 15th may (£85) followed by the Harmony blood test the following morning (£360). I don't want to wait for the NHS 12wk scan I decided. In the blood test they can check the baby's sex as well as detect chromosomal abnormalities with 99% accuracy. 5 weeks to go!!!

Feeling a lot more emotionally stable this afternoon, phew. Very busy at work which is a good non emotional distraction. Hope everyone is surviving Monday x
