Brown spotting at nearly 8 weeks

Hi I've had some brown 'bits ' mixed into mucus yesterday and today.

I can't work out if it's normal or to ring epu?

I'm 40 and I didn't have anything like this with my first.

Actually maybe pregnancy is a better board, will repost there.

I had this with both my daughters. I'd say go to epu see what they say. It's what I did and they checked me over, everything was fine. Good luck!

Hi. We did see a heart beat but measuring a couple of weeks smaller than I'm supposed to be. Not really sure what to think. Rescan in 10 days.

I'm glad you got to see the heart beat. If it helps to know, I had the same with dd2. Was showing smaller than expected going by my dates when I was scanned at 8 weeks. Keep positive as best you can! Good luck for the rescan too!

Thanks dovah. It measured 3.5mm which is 5-6 wks; I'm technically 7+5 but can't be earlier than that due to the early pregnancy test. So I can't help think it's quite a big gap.

Do you remember what your difference was?

If I remember it right I think by my menstrual dates I was 7+6 but on the scan baby showed to be closer to 6+3. Oddly once I got to 12 weeks she was showing a week ahead and my due date changed.

Dovah do you mean a week ahead of the small scan or a week ahead of your dates?

On the first scan at 7+6, I showed as a week behind in size so instead of 7+6 I showed as 6+3 by their estimation of the size of the baby. By 12 weeks I showed as 13 weeks. Hope that makes sense.

Oh right, that's bizarre! Guess it goes to show how variable growth is. I read girl foetuses tend to slow growth under stress.

Ive got ongoing brown discharge, a few slight cramps. But breast very sore. I guess all will become clear in the next few days.
