Smear & TTC

Has anyone had difficulties getting pregnant but then have a smear& fall pregnant? Would the smear delay your period?

I had my first ever smear half way through my cycle in March, I was due on yesterday but no signs of AF at all. I poas (an ovulation one as this is all I had) this morning and there was two lines (see attached photo) but I know this is probably unreliable so I know I need to do another test, just wondering anyone else's thoughts??

Well that's a positive but I don't know if it definitely means a pregnancy? I have heard that an ov test can show pregnancy though, so tentative congratulations!!

I don't think your smear has any effect on ttc, though. You just got lucky this month!

Oh and it doesn't delay your period, either. They just prop it open and scrape off some cells (nice!)

Thank you, to be honest I'm not expecting to be pregnant so definitely not getting my hopes up after this test, will buy another and do it tomorrow if AF doesn't show.

As it was my first smear I didn't know if it can mess up cycles or not - so thank you for the advice. Xx

So I found a test in my drawer and the expiry date is 04/17 so just in date! It wasn't my FMU, but what do you think??

Oh yes, that definitely looks positive!! Pink dye tests are more sensitive I think, so maybe try one of those in the morning?
