Hi All
Just need some advice really. We have a history of several early mcs (6ish weeks), an ectopic and a missed mc (11 weeks). With the early misses I never really had any pregnancy symptoms but this time feeling sick, tired and sore boobs. As yet all seems normal but I'm wondering whether its worth asking for an early scan or should we just leave things alone while they seem to be OK?
Any thought gratefully received while I chew mine and dhs finger nails to shreds...

I have a friend in a similar situation and they have decided to wait-their view was a scan would not change any outcome.

Very difficult at 5 wks to see a sac but that said,if you get ANY pain you should get straight to the hospital in case of another ectopic.

Fingers crossed for you-let us know how you get on.

Hi Pheebe, i had a early scan at 4w 6d and they say the sac and yolk. I too have had a EP. This scan was to ensure that baba had made it to the right place and he had . I go for a 2nd scan next week at 6w 6d and hopefully we'll see a heartbeat.

Thanks both
Think I might wait til my mums bday next week then if everythings still OK go see GP and see what she says

Pheebe - best of luck. I had an early scan due to ectopic fears and I have to say, though we only saw the sac and yolk, it has been a relief to know that it is in the right place even if we don't know anymore at this stage. Everything crossed for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you x

The earliest you will see a heartbeat is 6wks and even then might be nothing for another week or 2. So I'd leave it till 8weeks just so your not worrying unnecessarily if they don't see anything.

If youve had and ep get in touch with your earley pregnancy unit and they will advise you maybe they might want to do some blood tests aswell. They will probabley leave it until 6-7wks until they scan earlier if your hormone levels are high good luck.

gothicmama · 03/03/2007 12:38

with me I would tend to leave it as long as possible as internal scans carry a risk of mc just be aware of symptoms of ectopic prg and monitor it, have you seen GP yet

Tutter · 03/03/2007 12:40

hi, and congratulations. have to dash but just wanted to say you should be scanned early as routine if you've had an ectopic. your gp should refer you to your local epu. good luck.

reetpetite · 03/03/2007 13:05

your gp should arrange an early scan for you. congrats and good luck!

Pheebe · 03/03/2007 17:33

Thanks everybody. I'll go see my GP on monday. We moved house recently so I don't know the EPU here. Feeling less sick today, don't know if that means anything. I hate this bit! Thanks for your support though
