A country with high risk of the Zika virus when ttc?

We have been ttc for 8 months now and are in the process of choosing a long haul vacation, but our dream destinations have risk of zika. Of course the risk is real but so are other diseases, such as malaria, which could also be harmful.

Has anyone continued ttc while holidaying in these places and taken extra precautions to avoid mosquito bites, or did it postpone your active 'trying'.

I personally wouldn't but that is mainly because I'm like a buffet to mosquitos - even with all the tips and tricks I come back looking like I've got chicken pox!

There's a blood test you can pay for to check if you've got Zika when you get back. Risk is low. Just test when you get back would be my advice.
