My colleague never had a home bfp and ended up begging doc for a blood test! So nobody is out til the red lady sings!

Speaking of docs... when do I make an appointment?? Does anyone know?x

mrsjkerry · 04/03/2017 10:48

Apparently doctor's tests aren't as sensitive so you maybe have to wait until you are a week late? Having said that, if your test says 2-3 weeks the hormone will probably be strong enough for a doctor's test. My one was only 1-2 👎🏻

Yeah I don't get that, like I'm only 2 days late so how could I have conceived 2-3 weeks ago. Right I'm gonna get off here for a bit coz have to get ready to go out with my sis and nephews in a bit so will catch up with you all later. Thanks for the congrats, it's still sinking in.
Fx for all the late af's, let's hope they stay late!!x x

mrsjkerry · 04/03/2017 10:55

I guess it's to do with when you ovulate in your cycle!

Wow! Three of you 😍 that's great and really good that you're all around the same number of weeks. Are all your partners upto speed now? I'm slightly jealous haha as was 7 days late this month and really thought I was pregnant until AF showed up in time to put a downer on my holiday!
Well I'm home now and can start trying again in about two weeks although I may buy OPKs this month as after last month have no idea if O is when I expect.

Kitcaty · 04/03/2017 11:07

Were any of you taking supplements while TTC?

MistyBxx · 04/03/2017 11:22

I wasn't taking anything, only folic acid which I've been forgetting to take so I HAVE to get back into that. And I didn't get a positive opk alllllll month. Got a faint line for a couple of days, but nothing that the instructions considered positive. But did feel cramps and lots of ewcm in the days before ov day. Dtd 5 days before ov, 2 days before ov (but he didn't squirt lol) and then the morning after ov, the last one being the one I imagine worked? Unless all the ewcm I was having kept the swimmers alive for 5 days x

Pibbee · 04/03/2017 11:46

Haha@ "squirt" Misty that word has massively amused me!

So it just goes to show it really can happen at any moment! Hooray!

Am gonna keep weeing on sticks just to make sure I know when ov is likely to happen (although to a certain extent that's BS anyway as Misty you never had a +ve from them this month!)but I think I'm not gonna tell DP when it's prime baby time as it just seems to pile the pressure on (understandably). Hmm in fact maybe I should tell him it's prime baby time during random days when it's really not! Then if he gets the fear at the time then it doesn't matter! Ha!

Pibbee · 04/03/2017 11:48

Yeah the ewcm keeps them alive. And it must be possible to have that stuff in there even if you don't see it. That's what I'm relying on anyway as only seen it once! But then when I was on the pill I wasn't ovulating of course, hence wasn't seeing it...

Misty if it was from 5 days then it's more likely to be a girl I think! Awww

mrsjkerry · 04/03/2017 11:49

I have no idea when mine was conceived!! I DTD twice a day everyday since the day my AF ended... 😄

Kitcaty · 04/03/2017 11:52

Haha mrsjkerry I bet your man loved that! I'm reading mixed things as sometimes articles say to do it every other day to give the sperm a change to mature and get stronger and that's what we've done up until now, every 2 or 3 days. But maybe we'll try every day this month

Pibbee · 04/03/2017 12:16

Haha I dunno how people have the time for twice a day! Am normally out of the house between half 7 am and half 7 pm during the week and that's if I don't go to the gym after work!

Pibbee · 04/03/2017 12:17

I went to the docs just for a general chat and she said to me every 2 or 3 days. She also said to not pay too much attention to apps and opk sticks etc, just to go for it on a regular basis!

passmethewine123 · 04/03/2017 12:24

Omg this really is a lucky thread!! Congrats to all the BFPers! I'm just coming in to my fertile week now so please send some of that luck over my way 😄

Pibbee · 04/03/2017 12:27

Good luck passmethewine!

Right - time for me to extract myself from the sofa and go for a run!

Flatwhite31 · 04/03/2017 17:16

Hi all! Can I join? I'm completely new to mumsnet, and this is my first post! I'm 31, and took my last pill yesterday! Eek! I'm a bit worried about coming off the pill (mainly due to the the spot horror stories I've read) but it has to be done! I also had awful periods before going on the pill. I've been on it for over 11 years, so who knows how long TTC will take! Watch this space!

Flatwhite31 · 04/03/2017 17:17

Meant to say, congratulations to all of you who have had a BFP!

Marie90 · 04/03/2017 17:19

Oh my god MistyBxx and Charl19 that's AMAZING news!! Huge congratulations!

Send some of that baby dust this was as still no AF!!

Polly85 · 04/03/2017 19:24

I just did my first poas at approx 5dpo. It was obv a BFN. Feel a bit silly...what a waste of money. Sad

Polly85 · 04/03/2017 19:27

Hi flatwhite, this is my first time too, and I'm also 31. I know how you feel about the pill, I was worried that my chin was going to erupt with giant horrible spots because that's the main reason I went on it 11 years ago, but so far so unspotty! Good luck xxx

Flatwhite31 · 04/03/2017 19:32

Thank you so much Polly. How long have you been off the pill for? I currently have a giant chin spot anyway (work stress related!) so hopefully going off the pill won't result in even more!

Polly85 · 04/03/2017 19:41

I came off the pill in August last year (the day after our wedding!) but we only started trying this month. My cycles have been a bit wacky since, and are still 38+ days. I have a feeling that might be because I'm overweight, but am struggling to lose anything at the moment because of work stress. Are you using any ttc apps? I'm finding Ovia really useful x

Polly85 · 04/03/2017 19:42

Haha I've just realised that you said you have work stress too!! You aren't a teacher by any chance? Grin

Flatwhite31 · 04/03/2017 19:58

Yes I am a teacher! How did you guess?! Haha! I teach primary. I've been so exhausted recently, and need to re-gain some energy for TTC! Lol!

Polly85 · 04/03/2017 20:20

Haha! I am secondary history! I'm only 3 years in, already considering a career change. Loving the idea of maternity leave Smile Just hope that the stress/long hours aren't going to get in the way of conceiving. We shall see
