Hi confused!! Welcome!
I came off the pill in December too but not officially TTC just yet, we're seeing how it goes!
@forever that is so sweet! Men really don't understand how the woman's body works 😂🙈

littleemma1 · 24/04/2017 21:08

Ps. Ultrasound tomorrow so will post updates as and when I get them 😖

ConfusedWannaBeMum · 24/04/2017 21:57

Oh Emma so we are at exactly the same stage now! Smile

My vitamins have arrived today so will start taking them. Have done a lot of reading online about discharge, fertile times etc. I think I figured we'd just have some fun for now and try but it all sounds very complex and almost competitive Grin Always felt quite knowledgable about my body and cycles but there still seems to be new stuff to discover.

I have no idea when my ovulation would be due to the irregular periods. And I have ibs so cramps quite a lot. Felt a funny pain on the left side all day today though which feels like it's related.

littleemma1 · 25/04/2017 07:56

We certainly are!!
I'm having some problems though so backwards and forwards to the docs ATM. My 1st cycle was 47 days and my second 35 days but for my 3rd cycle I'm now on day 61 😣 I had constant cramping for nearly 3 weeks so I'm off for an ultrasound today. So scared! 😐

I'm on a variety of vitamins... starflower and primrose oil, vitamin b complex and agnas cactus. Also gonna look at getting folic acid too.

If you do want to learn a little more about your body and ovulation, I would recommend OPK's but just the internet cheapies if you just want to know more, the CB ones are meant to be the best but come at quite an expense! And as you'll see by above posts can start to drive you slightly insane with the smiley face!

Since coming off the pill and talking to these girls it's made me realise it's not like they tell you in school!
Have you had the chat with your OH about how this isn't actually going to work in terms of what your body does to get pregnant? A lot of men think it's just a simple 1 day try bless them, again referring to above posts!

Good luck, and I think adopting the see how it goes attitude is the best in the beginning!

littleemma1 · 25/04/2017 07:57

Sorry, typo above... have you had the chat with your OH about how this works in terms of your body?

charl19 · 25/04/2017 08:09

Good luck with the ultrasound emma and welcome to the group! Sorry have been awol- had a very busy weekend! X

charl19 · 25/04/2017 08:10

Misty I tried to private message you but don't know if can do it on my phone- hope you're ok chick cxx

ttcnovice · 25/04/2017 11:24

ttcnovice · 25/04/2017 11:25

How are you doing charl? Smile xx

Hi all, can I join?
Have been lurking in this thread for a few days so decided to post and introduce myself!
DP and I are not so much "TTC" as leaving the door open for things to happen naturally at the moment Smile but reading this thread I'm doubtful we will be lucky enough for things to just happen!! I admire the effort, strength and determination you all have! We are getting married in August so we are getting on it very quickly but we both always knew we wanted to start a big family! I am 6dpo at the moment but not expecting anything this month as it is only our first cycle on the job!
So anyway, hi! Grin

Whoops sorry, didn't mean to post twice!!

ttcnovice · 25/04/2017 16:39

Hi Ro welcome to the madness Grin. How are your wedding plans going? I've found myself missing that part since our wedding last year (something I never thought I'd say!).

Ro2017 · 25/04/2017 17:10

Hi ttcnovice!
Wedding plans are going well! We have been living abroad in South America since August so knew we had to have most things planned before we left! DP has been very chilled throughout the whole process but has suddenly got very stressed by it all this week so I think the nerves are starting to take hold! Wink
I'm not surprised you miss it, its crazy to think that one day all that planning will be done and dusted!

littleemma1 · 25/04/2017 17:30

So I've had the scan but they wouldn't tell me anything today. The results are sent to your doctor within 24 hours so you can discuss with them once they've looked it over but the earliest appointment I can attend is next Thursday 4th May. Meh, I've waited this long so I'm sure I can wait another week ish. Will call the docs on a daily basis though to see if they have any cancellations.
Hi @Ro2017! I haven't been on this thread long but the ladies are lovely!

charl19 · 25/04/2017 17:34

Welcome Ro!Grin

I'm good thanks ttc.. no news here.. I think I'm in my fertile week, but not recording anything at the moment! Just dtd as usual at the moment, think am feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing!! Convincing myself that it will happen when the time is right!

DH reckons that if we haven't caught again within 6 months then we should start properly trying and then might track things then- although it's always on my mind this is FW and to get stuff in while I can 😂😂

How's everyone else? Any news? Xx

JellyBean89 · 25/04/2017 17:37

Welcome to all the new faces!!
@MistyBxx I completely get what you mean, I have a friend who never really wanted kids and she recently gave birth. I was happy for her but at first i did have to compose myself quickly. It's perfectly normal x

@Pibbee i see you managed to DTD during your FW. YAAAAY

@Ro welcome and i must say I do NOT miss wedding planning at all, it was a nightmare lo.

I feel much better today, except for some bruising and a tiny hairline fracture on my collarbone i'm pretty much as good as new. I think i am about 6 dpo today, I didn't check again after i got the positive OPK but my CM dried up the next day or so. Cramping really bad last night and today i felt like AF was starting. Had some weird discharge but dont think its AF...it was more weird yellow and than brown (SORRY TMI).

user1493122015 · 25/04/2017 18:54

Please can I join you all! My names issy now ttc baby number 1! Stopped the pill late march ttc ever since period is currently 5 days late took a test 2days ago neg fingers crossed it was just to early!

ConfusedWannaBeMum · 26/04/2017 06:00

Emma, how annoying about the scan! I hope you can get an appointment quicker!

Yes I have had a lot of discussions with DP. He is still not convinced that it won't only take 'that one time' haha. I think sex Ed and contraception clinics constantly telling us forgetting one pill or one night without a condom make it sound so 'easy'. He said he'd be happy to wait a few months to conceive but is starting to understand we can't plan the exact month.

Ro, welcome! I got married last summer and really miss it now somehow. It was such an amazing day!

littleemma1 · 26/04/2017 07:39

Hi @confused! I know, I'm so annoyed! Just gonna badger them every day.
Poor men! It's amusing but concerning at the same time when they don't understand!
Hi @user. It can take a while for your periods to settle down once you come off the pill. I think most of the ladies on here have experienced whacky cycles coming off the pill so it's normal to be "late"

MistyBxx · 26/04/2017 12:18

Hi girlies, how are you all? Sorry I've been awol, been doing the house out and moving various rooms round, new sofa, fully making the most of my time off work 😂🙈
charl thanks for trying to message, I've no idea how to do it on mobile app, I've received messages but don't know how to send them lol.
I'm feeling ok in myself, according to Clue my period is due tomoz but I don't feel remotely like it's gonna happen, I only properly stopped bleeding after my mc 12 days ago so I literally have no idea when af is gonna arrive 😳 I've heard it will either come early (feeling unlikely) or late so I'm expecting it to be late as absolutely not even one af symptom yet. also dtd 4 times in the last 10 days haha I've been so up for it coz we hadn't done it for so long 😂🙈 and against what the hospital said, we haven't been using protection but I honestly don't think anything is going to happen this soon as I'm sure my hormones are all over the place, done no opks or anything so don't know if I'm even ovulating again yet, and Clue is only telling me what it thinks coz I've put my mc bleeding in and it is assuming that is a normal period which obviously it wasn't. So just going on with life blind at the mo til af arrives then will start tracking again properly. I haven't done another pg test yet, I was gonna do one to prove to myself that my hcg had disappeared after the mc but I've never got round to it but I'm feeling 100% back to normal and I'm sure it would be neg again by now, it's been 2 weeks 5 days since the big "loss" all came out so that's plenty of time. So just a bit all over the place now but feeling lots better mentally.
Hope you're all ok xxx

Twistedsister7 · 26/04/2017 14:19

Misty I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better FlowersStar

I am a crazed symptom spotter this tww but I honestly have some increased symptoms from AF & some new ones. I have very sore, bruised feeling, boobs, stitch type pain on the right hand side plus extra cramping & constant cm that it so far like water. Also my appetite is up & down & a constant need to pee!! Could this be it!!! (Probably setting myself up for a fall here).

AF due Sunday xx

user1493122015 · 26/04/2017 16:09

Anyone having any strange cravings? I can't get enough halumi cheese used to hate the stuff!

Pibbee · 26/04/2017 16:56

Hello all! Welcome to the newbies!

Sorry I have been a bit AWOL, it's been a bit of a stressy few days. Work is really really busy at the moment, it's never-ending!

Also, it's all been a bit stressful with DP (it's fine now). I have decided the whole OPK/CB stick things do not help us AT ALL! I got really wound up earlier this week when I finally got the stupid static smily, and DTD just didn't happen. He seems to just feel totally pressurised when it's 'the' days t to do it. Plus I get stressed out, which makes him wound up, which does not make for ideal baby-making circumstances really!

Also, I have decided I am not convinced about the CB logic at all. The instructions say that you are in with a decent chance on each 'high fertility' day that you have. BUT, isn't it the case that sperm can only survive up to 5 days (and mostly less then that)? Therefore, if you have more than 5 flashing (high fertility) days, then those that are the furthest away from the static (i.e. imminent ovulation) smily do not present a chance to get pregnant? I just don't understand how that is meant to work. I think it's misleading tbh.

Anyway, we did still DTD on 2 of the flashing smily days (yay!) and whilst (per the above) I think the first one won't count, the second one miiiiight (if any of the little dudes survived long enough!).

So I don't have high hopes for this cycle but I also don't feel too bad, as we can only do what we can do! I think it's all down to luck really, there's people DTD every day and it doesn't happen, meanwhile there's also people who do it just once and then bingo!

So for next cycle, I am going to try to just chill out and really not care about OPKs. Me and DP have decided that DTD 2 or 3 times a week is the way forward (and that's what the NHS and my GP suggested anyway - my doc said OPKs are a waste of time pretty much). it will keep the pressure off and hopefully make it more fun!

I will most likely be away for ovulation day next time anyway as I am going away for a few days with work.

Glad you are feeling better @Misty!

@ttcnovice are you still on the dreaded flashing smilies?

@emma that's really annoying about the scan! Hope you can get an appointment sooner than next week...

littleemma1 · 26/04/2017 20:57

@misty I'm glad you're starting to feel better and more yourself, still sending love your way though 💕

@pibbee I bet if you take the pressure off it will happen! You hear of it all the time!

@ twisted it's so annoying though that the symptoms of PMS and PG are practically identical!!

Doctors (well, receptionist!) rang me today to say that a particular Dr. wants to see me asap to discuss my scan results but the earliest appointment she has is Tuesday morning 😖😒 I was happy to think I could just plod along until next Thursday, I've waited this long, but now they've said they are want to see me asap and have brought my appointment forward I'm going into over drive 😩 Will keep you all posted. I'm working from today through to Sunday (wah!) so will try to keep up to date with everyone and keep checking in xxx
