@millie congrats on the promo!!

@charl and @littleemma sounds like you have the right attitude! Just seeing what happens is the best approach I think, from a mental health perspective if nothing else!!

@Misty sounds like you are getting there. Take all the time you need and don't rush back to work or anything like that. I can totally understand your reaction to seeing your friend. Your time will come! All of our times will come Smile

And on that note I'd better go (back to) sleep! Night chicks!

charl19 · 20/04/2017 08:51

Aw misty it's totally shit isn't it to be blunt 😂 my DH sister told us she was about 4 weeks pregnant last week and it was a total kick in the teeth for me. I know I should be happy for her, and I am defo getting there after getting over myself a little bit but tbh with you I was totally gutted when I found out and I cried for ages as well!! I think sometimes we are allowed to feel like this, we're only human!! Feel your pain but there isn't anything we can do except get over it unfortunately. Big love xx

Emma totally get what you said as well! So annoying isn't it 😂

Pibbee fingers crossed for something sticky when you're dtd!! Glad hubby on board properly now!!! X

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 11:58

Omg these Internet cheapie opk sticks are weird! Tried one last night and didn't work cos flooded the damn thing. They are so tiny compared to the CB ones!

Also - I got another flashing smily this morning, which is the 4th day of them. But I had what I thought were ov pains on my left hand side yesterday (and a little bit today) so assumed ov was happening. So why am I still getting the flashing ones?! So annoying. Am wondering if I missed my surge yesterday as I refused to do any after my argument with DP - the one I eventually did was around 11pm and the one before was about 10am the previous day so well over 24 hours apart. Could I have missed it? Kinda hope so tbh as if that's the case then me and DP have all bases covered; if I've not got there yet then we need to carry on!

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 11:59

@ttcnovice how are you getting on with them ?

littleemma1 · 20/04/2017 13:38

@pibbee I've never used anything other than internet cheapies and could count on one hand how many times they've not worked - I've found them to be pretty spot on!
I think I've lost track of what CD I'm on now without actually looking at Ovia, but another strange symptom has appeared which I've not had before even with PMS... (tmi alert!) but my nipples are tingling like mad and feel so raw that it hurts even having my bra on! Ouch 😖

ttcnovice · 20/04/2017 13:39

Hi Pibbee I had the flashing smiley still this morning too, so the third day of it. I haven't had any pains or anything like you though so I think I'm still waiting to ovulate yet. You could well have missed the surge - I remember reading that it can last for as little as 4 hours! Maybe do another one this evening and see what it says? Are you looking at the lines on them too? I'm not sure if you're supposed to base anything by them, but my test lines do tend to darken as my cycle goes on so I do use it as a sort of indicator anyway.

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 23:23

@ttcnovice I got the flashing smily again just now! So that's 4 full days of it Hmm. I am wondering if I missed the surge as I didn't test between about 10am Tuesday and 11pm yesterday. I guess I could have missed it but that seeing as estrogen levels are still high (are they still high after the surge? Totally guessing here!)then it's still registering as high fertility....OR, I'm still waiting to ovulate. DUNNO. will see what's what tomorrow. Any thoughts on this scenario?

Tried one of the IC ones earlier and I'm not too sure how they work! They seem so simple when other people do them and then when I try I'm not too sure what I am looking for!

Have you had the solid smily yet?

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 23:24

Oh - I have not really been looking at the lines on the CB tests but I will from now on! Are there meant to be two lines? Mine from earlier this eve had a strong blue and I think a very pale second blue line...

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 23:25

@littleemma how are the boobies? I have had that before too. It's all so random!

ttcnovice · 21/04/2017 01:24

Pibbee apparently once the reader gives a "high" reading it will carry on giving "high" readings until either it detects the LH surge, or you don't test for more than 3 days. So if you'd missed the surge it would still read "high" even if your oestrogen levels were dropping back off. Not very helpful for knowing if you have ovulated yet is it sorry 🙈. If I were you I'd just carry on (both testing and DTD) a few more days just incase and see what happens! My lines are the same as yours at the moment if that's any help - a strong blue control line and a very pale blue second line. The last few cycles of using these the second line gradually gets darker before tailing off again - the first month after the "peak" and the other months after when I assume I missed the surge!

I didn't end up testing again throughout the day (needed to pee too much so couldn't get a good 4 hour hold BlushGrin), so will just see what it says in the morning now!

Pibbee · 21/04/2017 07:21

Ha @ttcnovice I've sometimes been testing without the requisite 4-hour pee-hold so is it any wonder that they aren't working properly for me!? Hmm

Oh I didn't realise that a break for 3 days will mean the CB re-sets itself. I got the goddamn flashing little bugger this morning (properly needed a wee since like 5am but held it in until it was a more respectable time to start pissing on sticks Grin), I'm sick the sight of him! Was hoping the result would be blank circle to indicate that hormones levels had sufficiently subsided but again, this is all based on guesswork! I haven't done biology since GCSE and here I am diagnosing myself and acting like some kind of fertility expert ha. Enough of that methinks.

I have attached my pic of the IC opks so far (shortly after taking this pic, the cat marched across them...Hmm). Not even the slightest bit positive are they! So can I assume el surgo has been and gone? Bloody hope so tbh.... How did you get on this morning with the CB?

Pibbee · 21/04/2017 07:35

Except I totally failed to attach the pic there didn't I (I can't see it anyway). Let's try again....

Pibbee · 21/04/2017 07:36

Oh wow and there is is twice #technologyfail Grin

ttcnovice · 21/04/2017 10:00

Pibbee I'm laughing at your technology fails Grin. I forget to add attachments to emails in work all the bloody time if that makes you feel a bit better Blush.

Hmm I'm not sure about your IC's, I wouldn't say any of them are near to positive are they. If I was taking a guess I'd say you're still waiting to ovulate, but I'm definitely no expert either! Bloody confusing these OPKs and yet here we all are peeing on them every day!!

Still "high" this morning for me 🙄 I've come to expect it now! I'm going to carry on testing every day until either a peak or AF comes though as I stopped out of frustration last month so didn't have any answers either way then!

Pibbee · 21/04/2017 11:30

Ha @ttc it was drummed into me when I was a trainee to always double check a) recipient and b) attachments so I'm fairly good at that on the work front, less so out of work though!

No my OPKs are not in the slightest bit positive. I was rather hoping that that was because the surge had been and gone. That said I have still got lingering slight cramps in my side so God knows what's happening. I'm now wondering if there is something wrong with my CB reader and am even debating buying a new set but surely that way madness lies!? Also it's another 30 quid but I can justify that by saying I don't go out getting hammered any more so am just spending the money on peesticks rather than cocktailsGrin

Annoying that yours hasn't peaked either. Although both of us are still in the window of what's normal for number of days of high fertility.

littleemma1 · 21/04/2017 15:12

@pibbee I'm terrible for attachments too!
Nipples still strangely sore, and pert as I discovered. Didn't really pay that much attention to them when I checked in the mirror before leaving the house this morning but mortified to notice when washing my hands at work (why are the mirrors always so big in toilets?!) that they're very clearly perky as I can see them through my bra and 2 tops! 😱 Now trying to sit at my desk for as long as possible so anyone else doesn't notice.
And also, on the topic of men being slight dingbats at times, I had to explain to my OH last night how female reproduction works last night as he was clueless. Like yours @pibbee he thought you could get knocked up at any point. No darling, dearest, it does not work like that!

littleemma1 · 21/04/2017 15:13

Ps. For the first time in weeks my pain is practically none existent!! 😬 Definitely still going for the ultrasound on Tuesday though.

Pibbee · 21/04/2017 15:56

Oh no @littleemma do you have a jacket you can put on to hide the nips?! And yes what is it about toilet mirrors!?!

Glad to hear your pain has nearly gone. Great news!

I did another silly OPK earlier and the line looks even more pale than the others so maybe my 'surge been and gone' theory is correct! Had a fairly comedy moment earlier though as I couldn't for the life of me find the bit of paper I've been sticking them to anywhere so had to spend a good 15 mind rifling through all the papers on my desk looking for it....Would have been a bit awks if I'd had to explain that to my colleagues! Eventually found it in my bag....Grin

littleemma1 · 21/04/2017 17:21

Unfortunately not @pibbee! I usually bring a cardigan or jacket and didn't bother today because it's warm 🙈
Me too. Still anxious to see what they say on Tuesday though.
LOL - imagine the look on their faces!! You could've said something like "I'm testing the water quality" but if you're anything like me then you wouldn't have thought that quick!
I think it's probably has been and gone. I've had 3 months of using them and only detected 1 definite positive but the other tests have shown peak levels and then trailed off to a point where there hasn't been a second line!

Flatwhite31 · 21/04/2017 19:40

Hi lovely ladies! That's us back from honeymoon. Apologies, but I'm too knackered to reply to everyone individually! Our flight left at 1.30am BST (5.30pm to our body clocks!) then landed just after 11.30 BST, which to our body clocks was 4.30am! We have just had dinner feeling like we should be eating breakfast, and are both bloody knackered!
Doubt DTD will be happening this weekend, zzzzzzz, but fertile window is over anyway. I just have a gut feeling it won't happen for us this month. If not, I'll be using OPKs next month. This is going to sound ridiculous as we are only on cycle 2, but I have this anxiety about this all being really difficult and never happening! Anyone else get that?
Anyone testing soon? Xx

Pibbee · 22/04/2017 09:54

Welcome back @flatwhite! Sounds like you had a great time!

I'm coming to the conclusion that my LH must have been and gone and I missed it. It was probably during that time earlier in the week that I didn't do any tests as me and DP had that stupid argument about the whole thing. If that's the case then that's fine as we are pretty much covered. Other possibility is that I haven't ovulated yet. I am only on CD13 so that's a possibility. In the past I have ovulated before and after CD13 (as far as I know). However, if anything the OPKs are getting lighter not darker. I'll post a pic when I can be arsed Grin. I'd have thought if I was heading towards Ov they should be getting darker by now? I had high fertility from CD8 so it's probably been and gone. I also don't have crampy pains anymore which suggests it's all done!

Twistedsister7 · 22/04/2017 11:06

OPKs are so frustrating. I've only ever see a clear positive like twice. Listen to your body as well.

Well I am 3dpo & symptom spotting!! Sore boobs, huge appetite & weird dreams!! I should mention that all those symptoms have appeared before & meant nothing but my dreamers brain ignores that whilst my realist brain is telling my to stfu!! I can quiet that one with cake though!!

Ttc is HARD!!!

ttcnovice · 22/04/2017 12:09

Cake here's some cake for your realist brain Twisted Wink. Symptom spotting is our favourite activity on this thread after all Grin.

Pibbee I think it does sound like you might have missed the surge in that case with your pains having disappeared now. Fx if so as I know you covered those days with DTD!

I had yet another "high" reading today. I wouldn't be concerned about not having a "peak" yet ordinarily as I'm only on CD13, but with getting "high"s from CD9 it is bloody confusing!

Welcome back Flat Smile was your honeymoon as amazing as the photos looked?!

Flatwhite31 · 22/04/2017 12:12

@Twistedsister7, I'm also symptom spotting! I'm not sure when ovulation happened (my Ovia app says Monday, but I get a feeling it was slightly earlier), but the only symptoms I have are sore nipples (had this last month though!) and crazy back ache (probably from sitting in an economy class plane seat for nearly 11 hours!). You're so right - TTC is so hard! I honestly thought as a teen that you'd have unprotected sex and fall pregnant straight away Blush. If only!

Pibbee · 22/04/2017 12:34

@ttcnovice I have sacked off the CB ones for this cycle. I have nearly run out, the cheap n cheerfuls are not indicated I am heading towards a positive, plus if I see that stupid flashing idiot face again I'll be really peed off! I will try one in a couple of days I think, just to see if it's gone back to blank circle therefore done for the month. In the meantime I will keep going with the ICs cos might as well really.

I feel your frustration at 5 days of the flashing dude!!! Did you have same last time? And exactly like you, I am on CD13 now and had the flashing one from CD8. I had previously thought lots of flashing days would be a good thing, as more opportunities, but now I'm not so sure as it just means more pressure to keep going! thinks back wistfully to the days when dtd was fun.... GrinHmm
