Of a cold, yes...

I usually just stalk these forums but saw this and thought I'd reply. I am 8 DPO and was feeling much more gas (burping so embarrassing) over the weekend so that got me ticking then.

This morning I woke up with a sore throat and cold like symptoms and Boobs feel massive.. I did an FRER this morning and it was positive.

I dont want to get your hopes up but that has been my experience so far. I am meant to be due on AF on Friday.

Sore throat and cold like symptoms is what I have too ... yeah I am a couple days past ovulation and this is what I am experiencing... and I don't quit remember what symptoms I had with my first pregnancy either ... Was your belly bubbling?

Ive had some bubbling activity but not much. There has been some feeling like needles on one side and cramping which seems different to AF cramps. Very bloated as well.

I'm bloated had loads of bubbling passing wind and now I have a stuffy nose and sore throat 😒 I ovulated the other day and now I just feel so run down ... the last time I felt like this was when I was pregnant

I'm feeling the same as you guys glad I'm not the only one

Bubblegum89 · 26/02/2017 12:51

Very unlikely that this would be anything to do with pregnancy. Implantation doesn't occur until around 7-10dpo. Af and pregnancy symptoms are the same. Which is confusing but most women won't get any symptoms of pregnancy until around 5/6 weeks of a confirmed pregnancy. My af symptoms change every month. I never used to get sore boobs as a symptom, the only time I'd ever had them was the two times I've been pregnant. Now I get them every cycle. I've had cold-like symptoms, gas, constipation, diarrhoea, cramps, nausea, increased appetite, decreased appetite, fatigue, insomnia... the list goes on. It's hard not to overanalyse but anything you feel in the tww is not usually a symptom of pregnancy, even if you have conceived.

Yeah unfortunately what Bubblegum said is true, I was told that it's because progesterone rises after ovulation regardless of whether you are pregnant or not, to support a potential pregnancy, which causes the early symptoms. Symptoms related to actual pregnancy won't start til at least a few days after implantation, most of which will not really be noticeable until a few days after a missed period (at least).

Until then, any symptom of pregnancy could also be a symptom of AF approaching. A couple of months ago I was convinced I was pregnant because I got really prominent bumps on my nipples which is considered a common sign of early pregnancy, but I wasn't pregnant at all. When you start tracking cycles and TTC you will be hyper aware of what your body goes through, it's actually amazing to feel! But the only way to really confirm pregnancy in the early weeks is a pregnancy test I'm afraid :)

I still haven't had any period symptoms I'm due on my period in a couple days 😊 And I still have a bubbly belly fingers crossed

Yay! Congratulations xx

Getmeouttaherenow · 12/03/2017 02:02

Congrats user!

I get so fed up with people saying you don't get any symptoms in the tww because it's too early. I did both times and I know plenty of others who did so it's clearly not the same for everyone.

I am however suffering a cold and sore throat at 31 weeks so not a symptom for me Grin
