Which pregnacy test is the most accurate? (or are they all the same!)

Just wondered if all pregnacy test are the same or if some are more sensitive than other
Has anyone had bfn on one test and then tested on another and got bfp?

( for anyone who has read my other thread i know that im grabbing at straws but it would also be usful to know for next month )

Yes there is a difference between test sensitivity. They test the hcg level and many look for above 25miU, others at 20miU and a few at 10miU. One clue if they don't tell you on the box is to look at their claim, Ones that say - 99% accurate from day of testing are often the 25miU, the ones that say "can be used up to 4 days before af", are usually either the 10miU or 20miU levels.
But it is grabbing at straws in some way as some people do not get a positive test til weeks after af was due. Everyone is different, the hcg levels can go up at slightly different rates, and ovulation can move by a day or so even in people with fairly regular cycles. So this means that I am not being very helpful to you here..... I hope you get the result you want from your tests.

You have been very helpful i have been using the 4 days before af test, and that might not be as sensitive as the clear blue so maybe i should gey another test if af dosn't arrive !

Acutualy having read your post back i think i might have got that round the wrong was so the 4 days before af are more sensitive is that right !

yep 'fraid so, the first response I have been lead to believe is one of the more sensitive ones.

If you live in the uk there is a company that can post out the most sensitive 10miU tests to you cheaply for the next day!

Go on ebay and look up the company! Just search for "pregnancy tests" !!!

You can contact them directly I believe, you don't have to go through ebay.

But importantly when you get the tests, check that they say 10imU on the packet. HTH
